anybody know where to get red STEEL bolts and hardware?

 I dont feel comfortable using aluminum on anything other than fender/shroud and number plates but Iall I can find is aluminum . If anybody knows please let me know .

I feel the same way. I go to my local auto parts store and pick up grade 8 steel bolts and nuts. They should have them in every make and thread measurement for really cheap. Right in NAPA for my town anyways, they have a huge rack filled with all kinds of stuff. Bring the bolts you wish to swap out, and then match them up with some steel.

Im trying to find anodized red steel bolts . I ordered a bunch for my plastics and stuff but there aluminum and I feel un easy about useing them on the ign/clutch covers .

I've seen mountain bike hardware thats says steel alloy anodized on ebay . I geuus I wont be using any on my engine  .


As far as the red on a suzuki goes it has a lot of red on the grahpics and the only color redily available for dress up parts for my bike are red for some reason . So i'm going with it .

with any viable options IMO.  If you were desperate enough, you
could powder coat the head and flange of the bolt, but that
coating will not hold up under repeated use.

I agree with your not wanting to use the Aluminum fastners for any
thing structural.  I guess you could use Red anodized Aluminum
washers under steel bolts in many cases to add some color - that
would probably be the easiest route to take.

Be cool to see someone do that to a bike.  Ti hardware is expensive, but it is for life.  It wont corrode, and it will strip your socket before it strips the bolt head.

I've got a bunch of aluminum anodized allen head bolts for my shrouds and number plates/seat . I powdercoated my ignition cover black and think the red hardware over the shiny black finish would be sweet .

He's got all kinds of Ti and Aluminum goodies with very reasonable prices.

Already done.  Every single fastener is Ti or Aluminum as are the axles, swingarm pivot bolt,
footpegs, caliper pins, pistons and banjo bolts, shock spring and fork springs.  Most supplied
by Mettec and Racebolts.  Like you said, Ti is expensive so be prepared to spend.

if you held it, you'd buy it. 

I walked around with my Ti hardware for a whole day.  You look down and you can't believe what's in your hand.  Feel's lighter than plastic of the same size, and it's harder than steel.

That's wht makes Ti so expensive.  Not the metal itself, but the tools required to machine/cut it.
