2011 Zuendapp GS125
« on: December 29, 2011, 12:47:23 AM »
Was on Youtube recently and watched a video about a guy apparently riding a 2011 Zuendapp GS125 and you can't see much of the bike but it sure sounds nice! I then went to the Zuendapp website but that wasn't much help. Anybody know anything about these machines? :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">

Zuendapp also produces an 80 that is a hot rodded Fantic. I'm a fan of the exotica and was hoping that a 125 would be the next logical step in the resurrection of this marque.Fantic has made some nice 125s in the past, are producing a good looking one right now and a Zuendapp version with a 144 kit would look fine in the garage. ;D

It's been awhile since anything was powered by a Sachs engine. :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">

I, more than anyone was hoping for a Modern Zundapp 125 or larger. I have been following the original progress of the 50 / 80 Water cooled Zundapp. The base models were a glossed over Fantic, but the racer versions were heavily worked on.
When I saw the new Fantic ( Gas Gas ) 125 , 250, 300. I immediately emailed the Factory website to inquire of new Zundapp models?

The reply from 11/2/2010 is as follows

Hello,
yes, we will offer 125 - 300 ccm 2T
Today I drive to Eicma in Milano to make a new contract for this models.

PS: I haven't seen or heard of any new info, One of the problems as I see it is Fantics are a Higher price than a Gas Gas in Europe and then to badge a Zundapp, I would think even higher?

Team Zundapp wants a new bike, My 1972 needs a rest

For those who haven't seen the new Fantic 125 or 250's, I have added a couple of photo's.

Now you can see why I was exited over the prospect of a Full size Zundapp 125.

Enjoy
Terry

There's an individual in Germany by the name of Mueller whose name sometimes comes up when Zuendapp is mentioned. You might know him from the Mueller (WP) air fork of the early 90's or from a prototype all aluminum 125 MX shown in 1997. It seems he has built watercooled modified Zunni's in the past and I wonder if he is linked to this latest effort?

From my emails in the past following the resurrection of the Zundapp brand, the Main driving force was Giambattista Tarditi known by every Zundapp enthusiast as ?Titta? from Italy.

He had manufactured AMR motorcycles using the Sachs 7 speed air cooled engines in the later 1970?s and maybe the 1980?s?

I know that Mueller did build Zundapp powered bikes in the early 1970's.

A bit of trivia - in 1975 Zuendapp developed a prototype 250 that never reached production.

Scroll to the bottom to see the Zuendapp 250 (and you will see some very strange machinery on the way!).

The Cheney Greeves 360 and the mid 80's aluminum framed Kreidler 125 look great.
