Cannot wait to see this baby going into production!! The big 4 should take notes!!!

There's a lot of bullshit on that engine that I don't want on a bike.  Why do I need a massively variable compression ratio?  I don't plan on running my bike on liquefied farts.  But, a lot of what's on that thing would be useful for bikes, like that trapping valve thing.  Hopefully it'd be reliable enough to take the hard work that motocross puts on an engine without pulling a four-stroke and leaving the rider stranded with a big bill.  Further, I wonder if the motor would be able to run without it, in case it were to fail?  Sort of a limp-back-home mode?

Lots of things that can go wrong with it, pretty cool but would love to see it in action.

Chris2T:
JETZ, you might not need the variable compression ratio on an mx bike, but for an off-road or street bike it would be incredible! It would instantly relegate vvt, v-tec and all the other 4 stroke variable valve actuation systems obsolete. Because it could change its compression ratio on demand you'd have an engine that could deliver a suite of power curves. Plus you could use almost any fuel in it.

JETZcorp:
Of course.  When you hit the street, the rules all change.
