« on: February 23, 2011, 02:30:02 PM »
I have a PSI carb, and a Rm 250 phat head for sale. My kids got out of motocross, and this is the last of my go fast parts.  Paid $600 for carb, really makes a big differance in power and responce. Completely externally adjustable. Asking $250 shipped.  RM 250 phat head for 2003-2008, also fits 01-02, turns out the head is the same just different size chambers.  have 1 chamber for stock compression with flat top piston (01-02) with 265cc topend, and 1 chamber for high compression, with it and race gas, it will rip the grips right off the bars. $125 shipped.  My # is 662-297-6645   call if interested, as im not online much anymore.  Thanks Joey Donaldson.

First your right, This bike has big baLLS, i have been told by a faster rider he could not keep up on the straights on his 06 kxf450. And yes thats all its worth, sadly, and i would negotiate at that.
You would have to know Taylor, 1, he loves his 250, he knows all the ups a downs of the race bikes 2 and 4 stroke. 2, Taylor never ask for anything, he fusses when i buy new grips or tires because he says we can save money and get a few more rides out of them. So, when he does ask for something i listen.3, Taylor was born without fingers on his right hand, just a palm and thumb. Its a miracle that he rides, so i make it as easy as i can for him, and if that means a boring 4 stroke then so be it. Taylor got a 05 rmz450 2 weeks ago and he is allready faster on it. Its not that its a better bike, its just easier for him to hang on to at speed, it doesnt have the rush of power his 2 stroke has and he doesnt have to turn the throttle as much to clear obsticles. That gives him more control when he doesnt have to turn the throttle as much.
Im not telling this for anybody to feel sorry for him cause that would upset him, but the fact is he was born with a slight handycap and we have to adjust for that. He is not your typical-  I like the 4 stroke because i dont have to work as hard-  kid,  He works out every day, he can ride the track at speed for 25-30 min at a time, and do it in 100 degree heat all day.  He just needs the 4 strokes mellow powerband to step up his game.  He has his limits to what he can do, this just lets him step it up a little more.
We still luv the smokers! ;D    WAYFASTWILLY

Thanks guys,  Ill pass this on to taylor,  We really have enjoyed our times with the bikes even though i dont ride myself. Just the thought of my boys wanting to hang out with their old man  makes me happy, plus drugs and alcohol  not much of an issue in motocross.

My son Taylor moved to a 125 at age 12, but he is a tall kid. He got his rm 250 2t at 13, but when he moved to his 125 he immediatly got faster, he said he just felt safer and more comfortable on the full sized bike. I think its not about age, but when the rider feels its the right time.  AMA says you can ride an 85 supermini till your 16  if you want to. But i will say, that if you can find a affordable 250 2t id let him try it, Taylor said his is easier to ride because didnt have to ride it pinned all the time, and you can really roost a 250f on the starts.  Just my 2 cents.   Wayfastwilly 8)   PS  our bikes were both 01  models

Hey! Im william, im a 42yr old father of 2 moto racers. Lil Will is 10, he rides a 05 rm 105 built by eric gorr and a 85 lt230 4stroke quad, and Taylor is 14 and races a modded 01 rm 265 in the C class also built by eric gorr. We are in north Miss. We race King of the Hill races, local stuff and area arena cross races.        Taylor was born without fingers on his right hand, so he is my miracle rider. When he was 10 i bought him and his brother a couple off 50cc minis to see if he could physiclly ride a motorcycle and he took to it like like fish to water. I worked closely with eric gorr on his engine to customize the powerband to suit taylors riding style. He gave us his 4 stroke port job  ;D  This port job took the hit out of the powerband, its just like riding a 450, traction everywhere, huge torque and power everywhere, and the maintanance and easy starting of the 2 stroke.  WIN/WIN  We are very impressed so far. We rode at a all sand track the other day with a faster rider on a kx450f and he made a few hot laps with taylor, he would come out of the deep corners on the outside line ahead of Taylor and our RM would pull a bike length ahead every straight.  When they asked the 450 rider what the deal was, he said, I couldnt do anything with him, he has more bike than i have.  BIG GRIN ;D  Long live the smokers!  Great site guys.  Glad to be here.   Wayfastwilly 8)
