Even chainsaws have EFI.
Correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not that familliar with EFI on motorcycles, but the only things that could break on a EFI system would be the injectors, some hoses and cables and the ECU. I don't see where you're getting these "****ing thousands" from Stu.

I'd imagine that EFI would be a blessing for city riding.. And motocross with lots of tight turns with long straights where you need bottom end and top end. The same goes for enduro trails.
And i think that never having to actually mix oil into the gas is a good thing. Also, you could run the bike on lots of different fuels, possibly even have different mappings for each one depending on how complex the EFI system is, or how open it is to the user.

What's wrong with EFI?
What i would like to know about Sherco's EFI system is how exactly they plan to monitor the air/gas/exhaust values.
