General Two Stroke Talk / Re: Husky 144XC
« on: July 16, 2010, 09:56:11 AM »
I  have a  04 cr125r  stroked 2mm  and 2mm overbore, I  didn,t  want  the 2mm overbore. Anyway  the  engine  builder  calls  it  a  144, it  might be a  151. I  know  that,s  strange, that  he  calls it  a 144  and  a 151. It  hits  harder  than  a  mod. cr500  hill  climb  bike, 21 ft. lbs. of  torque, quicker  than you can blink. There  is  no  build up of power, you touch  the clutch  and  shazam  sam, it,s  like  your  hooked up  to a  transformer, very fun. The  1st  plating  was  done wrong, replated  and  welded  the  exhaust port bridge, the  exhaust port bridge  broke again. I  shipped  it  to a different  plater, and  I,m  waiting  on  the  cylinder  now. Honda,s  have  a  thin  exhaust bridge, and  breaking  the bridge  is  common.

Yeah  Scotty Dog , that Pirelli  is  a  awesome  sand tire, when  you have  the bike up right. That  tire  hooks up  very good, it,s   a  hard  tire  to  change  though. In  98  I  had  1  on  a 98  YZ250  and  raced  it, on a  deep sand track. In every  berm  I  would  get  the  bike  up right quicker, because  of  the  awesome  drive, I  would  catch  the  new  YZ400f,s  on the  beginning  of  the straight,s  off  the  corners.   You  put  your tire  by the  heater  in  your  truck, to  soften  the  rubber, when  it,s  40 degrees, in the summer  put  your  tires  in the  sun. It  makes   changing  tires  much easier. And  use  lube   NAPA  has  tire  lube, you can delute it, usually  I  just   grab  WD40. And  always  have  a  spare  tubes. After  changing  tires   clean  your  disk brakes, and  ride  your brakes  to  check  your braking  power.

Old  dunlop  490  front, rear  737  for  the  hard pack  local track. For  the  sand tracks  773 dunlops, I   change  my  own  tires   so  I  stay away  from  thick  side wall  tires, plus  there  heavier. I  agree   Michelin,s   wear  very good, I had  a  pair in  95 or 96, in 08  a  dealer  shipped  the  wrong  size, a  large  250f  tire, I    put  the  rear  on, way  too  heavy  for a  125, so  I took  it  off  and  lost  money  selling  them.

That,s  great  news, that  should  mean  a  cr144  also  right.

It,s  all  about   the  sale  of  parts, Honda  does a  parts  price  check  every 30 days. If  you  tell  the  parts  guy, the  wrist pin bearing  is  8.30, he,ll  tell  you  that   he  has  to check yet, because  Honda  goes  over  parts prices  everyday 30 days.  It,s  a  shame  honda  caved in  to  the  green  bs, because   they  built  the  best  handling  125  of  all  time.  Talk  to a  retired  pro, he,ll  tell  yeah, and  factory connection,s  owners  kid   has  2  cr125  07,s, I  just   found  that out. I,m  sure  they  have  money  to  buy, any  bike  you can  think  of. But  he  choses   to  ride  a  cr125,  the  same  bike as  the  05,  the 02- 04  had  small  changes, to the  frame. Remember  Honda   had to  giveaway big  tool boxes  to  sell  there  bikes and  lost  there  star  McGrath. They  went  nutso  on  the  chasis, and  got  it  near perfect.

Super sharp, Lookin  real  sharp, Bradshaw  but  better  is  how I  see  it.  Watson  your  hard core  racing  with  your  tore up knee.  I  hope your knee  holds up, sharpen  the  pegs  good  and  get  some  grip tape  on  the  air box, to  help  your knee.  Just  take it 1  lap at  a  time, your  hardest laps  in  qualifing, get in  then  13  plus  2  smooth  laps, there  now  you have  only  1  race-moto left. Best of Luck

The  Emig  photo  is  the best  ever. I  remember  they  interviewed  Emig, a  week  or so  after  the race. The   photographer  showed  Jeff  the  picture  and  he  couldn,t  believe  that  he  was   dragging  the  bar  that hard. He  said  he  was  pushing  it  as  hard  as  he  could. He  beat  Everets  in a  moto, and  that,s  incredible, being  that Everts  is  a  sand master. I   was  at  Millville  in  91, it  was  125,s  and 500,s. Emig  just  started   coming  on  running  at the  front, in  the  pits  there,s  a  mob  of  people  8 feet  from him, just starring   at   him, while  he,s  stretching out  for  his  moto, with his  shirt off. He  was  real  skinny, but  in shape. People  are  saying  dumb stuff like  my  bikini  calendar  chic, how  much money  does he make, I  tell  her  I  don,t  think he,s  racing  for money  today, he,s  here  to  win. Others  people  are   saying  he,s  not fast  and his  bike  is  slow. Talk  about   motivation, this  is  a   rider  on  the verge  of  a  moto win. Mike  LaRocco  took  the  overall  on a  Rm125, a  thin  Larocco.

My two CR125's. Both 2007. CAS/Monster replica has now 134 hours. White Mugen tribute one has 320hours. Pics were taken in January. hotobucket.com/albums/ab45/125mxfi/Uusivuosi2010001.jpg[/IMG]
I   like  your  cr125,s very sharp. I  see  you  have  a VHM head   on  her, any performance gains ? And  a  Ohlins shock  where did you find that ?  How  much better than the stock shock, which is very good. I  have a  head and ear infection, trying  to  get  my  cr125,s  ready, 04  cr125  waiting on the  cylinder to be plated, bored and stroked,pc pipe, HGS BUD racing pipe 4 a 03 KX, fitted to my 04 cr125, and  a  06 cr125  I  put the 04  pc pipe on it, totally different bend, alot punchier-snappier. The icat  works great  on the  04, I   got  another icat  for the 06, from Alaska. It,s  the  only  place  that has  them, ever try the  icat ?

I  never  saw  this  vid, I  saw  others  from   this  race, good  find. There  was   drama  leading  up to  the  race, thanks   to Emig , saying   he,ll  beat  RC  or  put  him   on the ground. Yeah  classic  Emig , the   last  time  they  raced  each  other, Emig  beat  RC.  In  1996  I   had   a  huge  camcorder  on my  shoulder  at  Red Bud, James  Dobb  won  the  1st  moto, on a  RM 125   performance  engineering  privateer  bike. I    have   practice, quaulifiers, races, pits. James  Dobb  didn,t  have   a  pressure  washer, mud  just  scaped off,  the  track  back then  didn,t  have  sand  on it. Damon  Huffman   winning   his  qualifier  on a  KX125 ,  not  long  after  acl  surgery, I  would  put   Huffman  in  the  top  3  easily, for  having  a  smooth style. Anyone   remember   the   hottest  race  ever  in  Troy,OH., he  killed  everyone  including  RC. Team   Honda   with  McGrath  and  Lammy, pitted  out  of  a  box van. I   have   the tape  yet, in my  storage   garage, but  got eaten-broke  and  it,s  locked up. I,ve  had  tapes   break  before, but  this  one  is  bad, I  might  have  to   cut  the  tape out, or  something.

My   last  job  was  running  the  railroad  yards  in Chicago.  There,s  panhandlers   at  most   stop lights, alot  of  them  are  career  beggers, alot of  scammers. There  doing  just about  anything   you can  think  of, one  guy  at  a  stoplight  says  I,m  not  a  begger, he  climbs  up  the  fuel tank steps, and  has  a  clip  board, the paper  has  lines  on it, with  people,s  names  and   dollar  amounts  like  50.00  to  400.00  dollars. He   said  he,s  collecting  money, for  a   bum  house  and  says  everybeen  homeless.  I  tell  him  yeah, I,ve  been  homeless   since  may 04, and   it,s  not  that  bad. I  tell  him   creative  scam, now  get  off  the truck, really  who  is  going  to  give  someone  hundreds  of dollars, just sitting  at a stoplight.  If  you go to  warm weather states   like  Cal., Az., the  beggers  go  staight  to  the  truck parking  lot, at a  truck stop, there,s  so many  beggers, they  bring  there  4  person  family. I  had  a  women  in Charolette  N.c., begging  so  I  help  her  out  with  some  canned  food, she  wanted  money, a few  minutes  later  she  shoots  the  tank  twice, real  smart  if  I  had  6,800  gal. of  gas, in the tank. There  was  gun fire  all  night  there. I  see  people  at a  truckstop, asking for  gas  money, there  usually  young  and don,t  realize  how  much  it  cost  to  travel, in  08  I  payed  6.09  per gal.  at  a  Pilot  truckstop, on the N.Y. thru way-I-90. There,s  countless  stories  of  people  stranded  at  truckstops, they  know  they  don,t  have  the money  to make it, but  there  determined  to  make it  to  there  grandma,s  funeral, we  drivers  take  care  of  folks  like  that, give them money, feed them, directions, snacks, water, etc.   You  corner  for dough  and  jump  for  show, If  you  can  turn  and  burn  on  a  125, you  can  ruin  a  450  riders  day.

That  Cody  Kamm   kid  is  from  Wisconsin, he  was  a  L. Lynn  champ  on  a  50  or  65. I  don,t  know   much  about   him, he  races   expert  class  now  on   a   Yamaha  4-st.  He  won  a  pro-am  moto  at   pineridge   in  may, and   his  favorite  color  is red, favorite  food  icecream. haha   Megan  Fox   is   kinda  hot  and fake  trampy, but there,s  so   many  hot  women  in  the  USA  and  everywhere.

I  would  visit  the  seller  and  negotiate   some deal  out.  The  sellar   keeping   jb weld  a  secret  is   pretty  lame. Have  a   friend   issue  court  papers  on him, then  he,ll  make  things right.  I,m  not  a  case  expert, but   you   could   hit  your  local   welding shop  and   they  should   know   if  the  cases   can   be saved, sorry  I   don,t   have  KX  parts.

In  1998  I   went   down  to  the  Byron IL.  track, to  race  the  nuclear  series  there. I   arrived  on  thursday   morning   with   a  1997 yz 125- Jeff  Willoh,s  National  Nollean  bike, and  a  1998 yz250  to  get  one  of  those  huge  nuke  trophies  and  Yz bucks. In  the  mid  to  late  90,s   that  track  did  very  well, along   with  the pro  riders. The  pro,s  would  race  in  Lake Geneva Wi., friday night supercross, both  tracks  had  contingency,s. Then  hang  out  the  Lake G.  there,s  alot   of   rich  Chicago  people there  including  Oprah. THen sunday  race  Byron, had   races   from   surrounding states  and  far  away  Lake  Geneva  flew  Jimmy  Gaddis   from   Nevada  for  some   rounds. Typical  me  I   go into town  Friday night,   the  Italian  bar-restrautrant   was  cool, but not  as  cool  as the owners  daughter. She  asked  me  if  I  wanted   to  hit   Rockford  for  a  punk rock  show sat. night, so  all   that  was fun, not  the best  for  the  sunday race  results. The  track  was  under  water  sun. morin, they  do a  great  job, getting  the track ready.    Ps   Jimmy  Gaddis   was   the  arenacross  champ, on KX125 and KX250, back then.

Yeah  that,s  what  I  call  advanced  parking. There,s   some  pretty  wild  underground   warehousing  in   the  USA  also. Like  the  underground  caves  in Missouri, there,s  a   bunch  of  them, including  the  largest  underground  warehouse  in the world. There  old  lime  stone   mines, people  in offices, and  alot  of  trucks, I   have  some  pictures, next week  I,m  getting  a  different  lap top, then  I,ll  try  to  post them. I   missed  the super bowl  2  years  ago, because  I   was   waiting  to get loaded  in a cave, tv,s  don,t  work  in a cave.  Ps   I,m  new  here  I   found  the   site  2stroke Mafia, on 125mx,  and  this site  is  AWESOME. I  just  quit  driving, need  a   break  to get healthy. I  started   buying  mx  mags  in 1976,  Bob  Hannah   and  Marty  Tripes   were  my   favorite  riders. I  have  a  04  cr125   stroked  and  2mm  overbored, overbored  wasn,t  my   idea. I,m   waiting   for  the  cylinder  to  be  replated. And   just  picked up a  very  low hour  06  cr125, for a  practice bike.   It,s  super  great  to  finally    have  the  time  to  get   into  the  site.  A  track  in  Wisconsin  called  Aztalan, is  talking   about   a   125 vet  class  race  this  weekend, too bad  I   don,t  have  anything ready, there,s  riders  interested  and  there  trying to find  a   125. The  Aztalan  track   just  outside  of  Madison,  gets   good  turnouts  38 or 39  in   40 plus, in the last race, 40 plus  is  a cash class  also.  I   doubt  the  125 vet  class  will   happen, this  weekend  there,s  only a  1  day notice.
