General Two Stroke Talk / TSM IS IN FOR DAYTONA!!
« on: February 07, 2013, 04:36:56 PM »
Good Luck  to  team TSM  and  Jake,  he  must  be  pumped  to  rip  on  the  250.    Team  TSM   should  contact  Chad  Johnson   3  time  national  arenacross   champ,  he  got  a  4 th  in  the   main  at  Daytona.  Chad  is  the last  rider  in the world  to win  a  national  championship  on  a  2-st.  YZ250.  He  just  retired  from  areanacross   racing,  he,s  only   29  or 30   and   still  has  national  speed.  He  rode  for  every  manufacture  and  won  on  every  bike  for  14  yrs  in  national  competion.  He,s  problably   the  only  rider  to  ever  do that.

General Two Stroke Talk / name this bad a$$

Trampas  Parker  from  Louisiana,  he  calls  himself  Chad.  Trampas  is his  swamp  name.  Mike  Healy  was  on  a ktm   125  about  the same time.   Donny  Schimt   1990  125  champ, on  a  rm 125  his team mate  was   a   15 yr old  turning  16,  what  was  his name  ?  hint  he,s from  Belgium.

Robby  Renards  dad  had  his  02 or  03  cr250    running   strong  enough  that  Honda  wanted  to  tear  it down  and   duplicate   the mods.  Give,em  a call .   I   pull   the  pv  cover  off ,  then  fire  my  04 cr125 up.  Then   check   the  pv  to see  if  it,s  operating   correctly.  I   lube  the cables,  and   all   pv  parts  are   fine  tuned-  polished  to   get  the  pv  operating  as   smooth  as possible.   I  want  the pv  opening   asap,  with  the  bike  running  I   adjusted   the  cables  and   got  the pv  opening  quicker.

General Two Stroke Talk / Official 2009 KTM 125sx bike build
« on: February 04, 2013, 10:22:24 PM »
KTMS 2008 125 made 38 horsepower accoridng to mxa. Thats as much as the 150 makes now and its newer. Thats pretty embarrassing for them. Anyway my point is they are rockets. Have fun :D

not to mention i have a little motor work and a fmf system, so maybe looking more towards 40? either way, it'll be way more than that turd of a stock cr i had, i rode a 03 yz 125 this past weekend and it was way snappier and accelerated quicker/cleaner than my cr ever thought about doing. the only thing the yz had was a pc system

i cannot stress how much i want to ride this thing   That,s odd  my  06 cr125 stock jug, with leaner jetting, pipe, rad valve  pulled  all   the  yz,s   and  ktm,s  easily  and  I weigh  170 plus  in my  birthday suit.  Please  don,t  paint  the  factory finish pipe, just  wd40  and scotch bright pad.  It,s   your  bike tho, whatever makes  ya happy.

I don't think so.  They just intended for their RC Valve motor to not suck, which requires a little longer intake tract, more compression, a little less crankcase volume, and a Keihin carb.  They'd have gotten around to it, but they built foopers instead.  This 99 motor was long in the tooth by 01.  It went from 92 (Jeff Stanton era) to 2001 with only small changes.

I think im going to put a Scalvini on this thing too, with a Bud silencer.
Sounds  like a great  project, I rode  a  pals  99 cr250   it  had   a  amazing  motor,  lineer  feel  but  strong,  it   had  low end  into  a strong  mid   then  it never  stopped  pulling.  I  left  it  wide open  to see  when  it signed off,  I was   shocked  it   just   kept  pulling  on the topend.

To the op,  youtube  comments  are  stupid. They  can  be posted  by  a  9 or 65 yr  old, that  never  rode a bike.  I  don,t  look  at  youtube  comments  like  there  the law  of  all things.  Going  by  your  title  of the thread,  I   bought a  new  04 cr125  in 05,  because   I   wanted  the best handling  and durable  bike made.  In  02  I had  a  major back  operation   and  if I was  going to ride  again,  I was  riding  the best  handling  125  available.  I owned  10  125,s  and  3  250,s    the   04  cr125   goes   straight  threw   3 foot whoops,  20 inch  deep  square  holes ,  the  best  and most  precise   cornering  bike made,   a  rm,yz  or kx  is  not even  close.  The  cr  chassis  gives  ya   a   ton  of  confidence,  even  in  technical  jump  combos.  That   where   sketchy  on  other  bikes,  the  cr   will   have   you   master   the section  in no  time.

General Two Stroke Talk / mufflers what to run
« on: January 23, 2013, 09:00:16 PM »
A  shorty  has  less  back pressure,  with  lower  engine  temps  with  long  motos.  That,s  why  the pro,s   used   short  silencer,s  even  tho  you   loose   some top end  power.

« on: January 22, 2013, 12:40:21 AM »
Super trucker Racer-X was right. I looked up the part numbers 1999-2002 are the same 11200-KZ4-L10  Thanks again
Alright  good  deal,  never mind  what  I  said  about  a  99  being  a  6 sp,  I was  thinking  about  the  power valve  design,  head up  my  butt  again.  haha

I would  check  the part #  on  service honda,s  website,  if other  years  don,t match  the part #  of a 01.  Don,t  purchase it.  I would  get  a  01  side case,  if  the  inside  of the cases  is  different.  The  bike will never  run  right.  A   99  was  a 6speed,  02  I think  the case  volume  was  changed,  not   100 %   sure  thow.

It,s  cool  that  he,s  riding again,  but  talking  about  trying  a national  come on man.  I,m  sure  his  bike  will be  trick,  with  fc  suspension  and  one  of  Windham,s   factory  motors.  But  the  fast  40 plus  riders  are   on it ,  they,ll  race  45 a  then   30 plus a   or  25 a   and win   or  be  at the front.  The  vet  riders  don,t  care   about  a   riders  80,s   national   races,  they,ll   pass  them  just  like any other  rider  on the track.

Technical / Calling on 2001 CR125 owners
« on: January 10, 2013, 06:55:01 PM »
Plynn41   has good advise.  On  any mx bike you should have to push on the bars  to move the bars when the bikes on a stand.  The bars should stop and not move, when  you stop pushing on the bars  with your palm  on a  stand.  On  04-07  cr125,s  you can  run up to  110 mm  of sag,  most  bikes  you can  run  more sag than the book says.   I rode a pals  01 cr125,  no head shake at all.  Alot of  riders  put there body weight on the bars  and not on the pegs.  Once you relax  and  keep your body weight on the pegs,  you,ll rip.

I wish they would bring back the semi's in SX. I always liked the old format .....no timed practice just racing. Night show should be heats, semi's, last chance and mains. Less talking and more racing!
I agree  the riders used to race hard for a qulifying spot.  I would like to see  2 whoop section   70 yards each.  And  a   longer tripple  65 feet isn,t that big.  And   a   very  steep and long  jump face ,   that   shoots   riders   50  feet  straight up   with  a  short  jumping  distance.   You know  the type of jump,  that when  you  hit  the peak height  you   hang  into the air   for  a second  or 2.  That  would  be  SUPERCROSS.

Hey Carterl , Is cycleranch  the best track in s. Texas ?  I  looked at  the Texas  mx track map and then looked the better tracks up on youtube. Cycleranch looked like the best  track, but that,s on a video and not in person.  I,m  talking with oil field  co.s  down there , I,m looking at San Antonio  to the south  for  my new home.  I like the  hummid weather, don,t care for the dry heat of the west.

Swapper the 150,s are legal in the 125 class for the dream race.  Sleepy hollow 2-st. race is prob the biggest 2-st race in the USA.  I saw that  crowhill vid before, was wondering when someone would post it, great to see Dowd on a kx125. What number is Decotis  and  Lorruso ?  The  125  class is popping up everywhere now. In Wisconsin  we have 35 plus 125 class  at some tracks. The 1st race was about 5 years ago, at Aztalan  a round of the racer x vet series. With under 2 week notice they had 38 riders sign up.  Two years ago  20 some 125 guys, went to RED BUD to race the racer x vet round.  RED BUD didn,t  offer the class, but was really cool and  gave the 125 guys there own gate.
