Technical / Front axle... Showing
« on: July 20, 2011, 01:34:15 AM »
After installing my new front wheel bearings I noticed I can see a cm or two of my front wheel axle on the right side (left side if you're looking at the front number plate.) And I don't recall how it looked before I took the wheel off. I'm a total beginner mechanic, this is the first bike I have ever had to maintain on my own. So is it ok or did I do something wrong? My bike is an 03 Yamaha YZ125.

If there anyone in my area (Port Angeles, WA), tune your radio to 91.3 Victoria's rock once in a while to try catching this commercial... Because lately I've been hearing repeatedly a Kawasaki dirt bike commercial directly towards motocross (they mention motocross racing machines several times) and there are many dirt bike noises in the commercial. Not a single four stroke is heard. I hear several 125's and 250's but not a single four stroke. It's confusing! Is it false advertising? Because they don't make 125's or 250's any more... If it is false advertising... This would mean they are using two strokes to attract people. Yet they wont manufacture and sell them... This is just getting stupid. They are just making it too obvious that all they want is more revenue. Not real performance machines.

Technical / Rear suspension locked
« on: April 20, 2011, 05:53:54 PM »
I need some help. I'm sure it's from my crash a few weeks ago, I had hit my head so I never really checked the bike over extremely well... But I got back on it and I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if the suspension didn't compress when I got on. Anyways today i went to check on it, just casually chatting on the phone I pressed down on the seat, and nothing happened. I got on, no compression of the rear suspension. After that I found it was able to compress nearly two inches before it stopped where it felt like it was hitting someone.

Here is a video of the crash... You can see at 0:32 and 0:44 it hit the sprinkler with the bottom of the bike. What do you guys think is causing my suspension to lock?
