Photos & Videos / Re: stewart and carmichaels most memorable passes
« on: April 06, 2011, 03:52:32 PM »
I was there at the Budds Creek round with Chet Burkes Productions working as utility worker for the TV shoot when Charmical did the looky loo over his shoulder at Tortelli.  I was about 15" away.  I was floored when he did it.  Totally awesome stuff (pass).  First thing I did was tapp the camera guy, my buddy, on the shoulder 7 asked, "you did get that right".  He grinned ear to ear & shook his head yeah.

Do bofum. I did with one bike.  The only limits are your own.

Yeah but we all don't have your skills Allen  ;D ;D
Da check is in da mail. :D  Thanks.  I don't think its skill as much as stubborness with me.  I hate to admit to defeat by an inanimate object. i.e., rock, hill, mountain, exwife, etc.  I see it in my grandson & realize how bullheaded I am.

He, as with Stewart, McGrath & the rest of the posers, lost all my respect when they signed supercross only deals.  He gained a bit back when he came back outdoors a couple years ago.  But not much.  I think they should have a grand national championship.  Indoors & outdoors combined.  What say you?

Do you really think he'd  give props to a machine his sponsor doesn't even make.  He did his job.  That's what they pay him for.

It's just Coombs & his clowns making fun of us wanting to keep 2 smokes alive.  I mean, look at the guy doing the interview.  Looks like a REAL rider eh?  Another one of Davey's flunkies.  I'm disappointed in Red Dog though.  And JT$, just another road block.  Watch him in any main he gets in to.  He won't move over for the leaders when the AMA throws the blue flag out in front of him.  It was good to here a good ol' 125 though.  Soon wqe will be hearing the scream of a not so long forgotten RM125 in the hills of Pennsyltucky.  Off in Coop's direction.

What Myck says is completely true.  I sell Kawasakis for a living & have had one around, among other things, at my place for years.  Once they start to go they disappear like a a long dress on prom night.

Put one on my YZ250 a couple years ago.  I ride off road in places where if you want to see dirt you'd better bring it with you.  Lots of rocks.  Mine is perty much indestructible so far.

It is also because of the rear brake being on the right. A lot of people sub-conciously rest their foot on the rear brake while cornering or even rub it to control the traction feel and you cant do that when cornering to the right. You just gotta get comfortable and do it!

Kudos.  That is exactly it.  You will hear this time & time again in MX & off road schools.  Has nothing to do with the throttle.  And to do the drill in the video properly you would do an equal amount of revolutions in each direction.  When I teach I set up a figure 8 for this type of exercise.  Saves time & teaches the transitions at the same time.  Also, an advanced rider will LIGHTLY keep pressure on the front brake through the apex of the turn.  This will help weight the front tire for more grip/traction & better cornering.  Actually helping you keep your speed up.  It takes a lot of practice to perfect this technique.  Try it.  And have fun.

Dude, I noticed you have very little response to your post.  Find me a job in your area & I'm there.  I'm tired of all this white "bliss".  This Sheet sucks.  And I promise to never buy a 4 smoke.

No, I agree.  The "MX" class should be an open class.  They're just depleting their entries by not allowing it.  Their loss.  Run an age class if you can.  Vet class maybe.  If you really want the race time that is.  Good on ya.
