General Two Stroke Talk / Re: TSM is back...
« on: February 15, 2017, 03:09:24 AM »
just going through an old email account and saw the site is back up and running. Was wondering what happened, one day the site was just no more.

I think last time I was here I was on a ktm 250sx. Got sick of getting hurt so I sold that and bought a boat. Well, after 3 years of wakeboarding I realised i was getting more hurt doing that so the the boat went and a yz250(me), yz125(wife)pw50(daughter) and ktm50(son) replaced it

Its good to be back

There are also apps you can get for both iphones and android. Just search for Premix calculator

The oversize rotor will help heaps. I had a 270 on my rm 250 and it was a lot better than my wife's rm125. It still didn't match my ktm but I replaced the  pads on the rm with cheap ebay ones so that would have had something to do with it

Why would FI stop the consumer being able to change the top end at home? I can see at adding a little more complexity but not that much

General Two Stroke Talk / The Ultimate YZ250

I dont see what the problem is with this article. Jody was modifying the yz to be the best for him and listed the products he used. Yeah it might be product placement but it wasnt reviewing a stock bike, it was modifying a bike and that takes aftermarket parts.

On the actual bike though, other than the suspension it seemed he was trying to make it as good as a stock KTM  :P

General Two Stroke Talk / Robbie Marshall on pitpass radio show
« on: May 03, 2013, 07:09:59 AM »
Just listened to it then. Very good interview, not only could you tell that Robbie was excited but also the guys interviewing him are excited about it too. The fans are gonna go nuts and the team should get some good exposure. Well done to all involved

My wife's RM 125 would creep forward with the clutch in at low revs. I changed the clutch plates and it fixed it. The clutch plates were worn and would stick together, if i held the clutch in, front brakes on and revved it they would sometimes come apart. It only did it after the first oil change after i bought it, when i test rode it the clutch felt fine

In MXA's test of the 2012 ktm 250 sx they highlight the difference between the linkage and non linkage from 2011. Basically once both systems are set up for the rider/track they are on par with each other. It is just that most of the time the linkage system can be suited to the rider in a matter of clicks where as the non linkage would sometimes need a spring change, as swapper said, the linkage works better over a wider range of conditions where non linkage is more fussy to spring rates etc

I can't find an owners manual pdf online for free to save my life... ugh  :'(
I have a pdf for a 2003 rm 125. It is very similar to the 250, i used it all the time for my 2007 rm 250. its about 20 mb.

General Two Stroke Talk / What the Hell??
« on: March 15, 2013, 11:37:25 AM »
Every time i sign up for a race i put KTM 250 sx. When i check the riders list at the track i always see sxf. I now write KTM 250 sx two stroke just so there is no confusion. Same thing happened with my rm, they would always tack on the z

The AMA is Japan's bitch. Japan said this is the size engine we want and the AMA bent over and gave it to them. AMA already knows what people think about the handicapping and can see in places like Australia and new Zealand what the effects of equal displacements are but Japan makes the rules. It could be fixed with the stroke of a pen but the AMA is too gutless.

The thing is though, would Honda really pull out? Pro racing IS advertising. Would Honda really allow every other bike to be represented and not theirs? No way. They would have a hissy fit and move on or see the number of Honda's dwindle on the track and the advertising dollars go down the drain. They called AMA 's bluff and won
