General Two Stroke Talk / Another one gone(Gone with the factory ride)
« on: January 06, 2015, 09:38:50 AM »
Wanted the title to give that vibe due to the loss of another rider. He was trying for KTM full support, guess not anymore. I wonder how he'll do now that he has lost his signature look.

General Two Stroke Talk / 2 strokes @ A1?

Yeah, privateer built bikes don't really stand up to factory rides. You'd have to go insane on engineering a bike from scratch to keep up, and by that point it wouldn't be legal to run.

General Two Stroke Talk / New 2 stroke in the barn

Yeah the carbed ones are extremely easy to work on and there are parts on ebay as well to rebuild them. The issue is the cost. A brand v6 200hp 2 stroke is in the $10k+ region.

General Two Stroke Talk / FIRST LOOK ? SHERCO?S 300 SE-R FUEL INJECTION
« on: December 26, 2014, 08:28:25 PM »
Im still waiting on someone to explain to me whats wrong with a carburetor and a box of spare jets...

Nothing is wrong with jetting carbs. But don't get me wrong especially if you live in high elevation(3500-6000ft) like I do where the temps in the summer can be 40 degrees or mid winter with a high of -17(Celsius), or riding areas changing elevations by the thousands, that is what this bike was designed for. Coastal or low elevation and its overkill for everything other than boosting hp by maybe 1-2?

Photos & Videos / Tusk Impact Rim/Wheel Sets

I want to see the scales before we make those assumptions haha. Another idea is that weaker rims will weigh less due to less material? Which would make sense on modern 4 strokes due to weight shavings to the extreme.

Digging the tusk wheel set as well, and I'm completely shocked by what you're getting for $500. Probably my next or second buy.

Meh, after riding desert for the last 5 years, it gets annoying. It gets to the point where riding with other people becomes a chore when it is dusty. Mid summer is a pain in the ass with the heat, and you're constantly looking for rain as that's when it gets awesome. If I had to chose between open desert riding and tight woods, the woods hands down. Can't imagine what it would be like in Nevada or Utah. Though I do wish to ride Moab one of these days.

Vintage Two Strokes / HELP, Bike Choosing!!

None of them. Save up and pick up a later model 125sx, rm125(REALLY GOOD), yz125, or a Husqvarna WR/CR125(Can be had for $1500). Save your cash for something you can keep enjoying, and not on something you'll struggle to get parts for in a couple years
