General Two Stroke Talk / What size engine?

Picked up an 86 trx200sx today for $100 to put the motor and swing arm, axle assembly, etc. on my lawnmower, my question is if i decided to put a whole new rear end on this quad and a "new" motor in it what would you guys suggest? Im lookin for something between a 250-500, i could possibly get a mid 90s kx250 motor for about $200, did those run well?

Technical / Flat top conversions?

Whats the benefit of switching to a flat top piston? And if i did put a flat top piston in my bike next time i do a rebuild are there any head mods or anything else that needs changed? Thanks

Alright first off i just wanna say ive had a rough easterbreak so far mainly because of a party i was at last night and im really worn out and wanna apoligize if what i say is offensive in anyway cause im not thinking 100% clearly yet but this guy mrnreklam4 is getting kind of annoying with these random replies that make no sense on old topics, can anyone shed some light on this or is he/she just being an a-hole?

General Two Stroke Talk / harescrambles or motocross?

Hey guys, id like to have some opinions on what type of racing you guys prefer, ive rode motocross tracks (never raced) and id like to maybe do a race or 2 this year but i love riding the woods with stream crossings and technical stuff with huge drop offs and such on either side where you have to be on your game, my friends step dad raced a harescramble about a year ago and ended up with a broken arm couple broken ribs and a concussion which kinda scares me but i think id like to give it a shot, what do you guys think?

Technical / opinions please

Alright i was looking to get some opinions on this, i have some extra money and im of course gonna put it into my bike, now should i get a boyesen rad valve or have my cylinder ported by eric gorr, and if i did have it ported should i wait until i have to rebuild it because i only have about 10 hours on my top end

Alright so this happened a few weeks ago between me and a friend who loves 4 strokes, i was trying to explain why a 2 stroke is a superior type of engine and why my 125 will smoke his crf150r so he told me when he gets the 250r he'd smoke my 125 so i told him id get a yz 250 and itd be cc to cc he said no he'd buy a 450 if he was going to race a 250 2 stroke so i told him id get my hands on a 500 with old technology and he said it wouldnt be fair, i asked why and he said because id have a bigger displacement..

just wanted to throw out the idea of TSM tryin to qualify for loretta lynns, i was lookin at a racer x mag from a few months ago and noticed the qualfying dates and theres a qualifier may 21st and 22nd in virginia, any opinions?

hey guys i was thinking of getting my wheels on my yz powdercoated, anyone have experience on how well this would hold up? Btw i dont really have 600 to spend on a set of excel rims
