Technical / pw 80 oil injection or pre mix

i just bought my nephew a 96 pw 80 with the oil injection disabled and it wont go into 1st gear. i can fix the first gear problem but should i fix the oil injection or just leave it alone and keep mixing gas.

General Two Stroke Talk / GNCC anyone?

has any one ever raced a gncc? their are going to be three rounds held within two hours of where i live and i was thinking about doing one or two of them. their are so many classes i don't know where to start. if anyone has raced one, any info on where to start would be appreciated. im 31 and have been riding for 16 years.

just seeing if anybody lives around these area's. i have no one to ride with in columbia and usually go by myself. i go to pittsburgh once or twice a year and those riding trips are pretty planned out with my buddies but the last few times it has been just me and my one buddy. planning a trip to crow canyon this year.

 if any one is ever near brownsville ky you should check this place out. the track is nuts. the down hill double is crazy when you first see it in person. travis and danny make it look so easy. they are pretty cool people to talk to and the will give you advice on how to conquer their track. i asked travis what gear he hits the six pack in and the response was 5th gear pinned on a 250. that's a little too much for me. i think they were born on bikes.

 If anyone is looking for graphics that will last for a while www.graphicmx.com has some good graphics. you can get them for cr's back to 92, yz's back to 88, kx's back to 94, and rm's back to 93. the honda and yamaha graphics have more of a variety and most come in different colors. i have been pleased with the graphics and they lasted about a year of riding. here are some pictures of my yz and cr(sold the cr). both of the graphics i chose came in 8 different variations. they are located in butler pa for all you pa guys.

i chose the blue and white for my 01 yz

General Two Stroke Talk / 99 RM 250 done

    finally got it done. paid $400 for it And put $600 into it. this bike was in bad shape. i replaced every bearing to include the motor. new crank, all the oil seals and gaskets, and new top end. this bike was easier than the 86 yz. i got it all together and started to put oil in it and found out the hard way that the drain bolt was stripped. i had to take it all apart and tap it. but it works now. on to the next project a 92 yz 250.

General Two Stroke Talk / not as nice as the 93 cr but

this was my year and a half project. i paid $20 for it and its been a pain in the butt. i just got it done about an hour ago. its not 100% but its close enough(small details are left all the major stuff is done). when i bought it a year and a half ago it was in horrible shape. it took four boxes to get it out of the garage. the previous owner poured paint thinner all over the frame and swing arm, the left side case was busted, the forks were shot, carb slide was sitting on the garage floor so it was toast, and the back wheel disappeared. finding parts was the easiest part of the project, trouble shooting was a pain in the but. when i finally got it running it would jump into gear so i replaced all the washers and c clips on the transmission. still happened. then i replaced the shift forks. still happened. finally i replaced the shift drum and the problem was solved. then the carb tuning took for ever but its finally done and im happy w/ my $20 purchase

will a 2000 rm 250 crankshaft fit in a 99 rm 250? they have different part numbers but look the same. any input would help

Technical / 86 yz 250 carb

i just put a new vm 38mm carb on my 86 yz 250. every thing inside is 1 step leaner than the stock carb (main, needle, ect.). it has a lever choke on it and i dont know what position the lever has to be in for the choke to be on. i started it with the lever down which i think is the choke on and it ran fine and every time i pulled it up it bogged and wanted to die. am i correct in assuming that it is running to lean? i have the old carb and can change out every thing except the slide and needle.
