Maico 3D!  Requires the Red/Cyan glasses that most DVD movies use.  Watch it in full screen and click on 1080P for best viewing!

Technical / Backfire
« on: April 13, 2011, 06:03:09 PM »
Ok, what could cause a Carb to not start and only backfire?

I know its the carb because if I replace the carb it starts.

So, I have a brand new Bing carb, jetted to stock.  Putting that carb in does nothing much backfire.  If I put a Mikuni TMX Carb that I have which was tuned for the bike, it starts.  Cleaned the carb, checked the jets, everything is fine in the Bing, it should start or even fire, but just backfires with or without the choke on.  The only things I didn't check which could be possible is the intake jet (the hole for the fuel), perhaps that's causing the problem maybe it's too small or too big.

Technical / What is your rear brake bolt pattern?
« on: April 12, 2011, 08:28:52 PM »
Ok, I need some help here.  Your rear disc brake, the master cylinder, I need to know how far apart your bolts are that bolt the part that brake pedal pushes on to the frame.

Looking to find a match for my bike where the bolt pattern is to 39.4mm.  Otheriwse, I have a master cylinder that is 33.4mm and I'll have to have the tabs cut and welded.

General Two Stroke Talk / GasGas and TM Racing to Merger!
« on: April 01, 2011, 05:15:55 PM »

Salt, Spain - Gas Gas and TM Racing have announced plans to merger the two small companies under the single banner of Gas Gas.  TM Racing is a small manufacturer in Pesaro, Italy that has been manufacturing engines for motorcycles and karts for over three decades.  A spokes person for TM Racing was quoted, "TM Racing has been a company which has always pushed the envelope when it comes to power, performance and quality.  Gas Gas is a great company whose the quality and performance is a testament of their dedication to the sport.  I know consumers of both brands will be completely satisified as we ramp up our R and D over the next year."   Gas Gas has been manufacturing Trials motorcycles for over two decades from their main factory in Salt, Spain.  Both companies manufacture quality bikes in the Enduro, MX and off road segments which will make it interesting indeed to see how this will change their 2012 roadmap.  The larger portions of the merger on the business side is expected to be complete at the end of summer 2011.

Lots of ppl are saying the price of rebuild a 4t is exagerated and that it's not really more expensive than a 2t.

Non-Moto / PNW TSM Spring Ride
« on: March 13, 2011, 10:41:35 PM »
Several of us live in the Pacific Northwest (ACMX, Jetz, Sachs, FactoryX, Watson, Swimr2DaResQ just to name a few).

What do any of you think about having a "TSM Spring Ride" get together?  Perhaps one Saturday, likely in April / May when we know will be good weather, and schedule a trail ride in some chosen location (that at least 1 person knows the trails and can be considered a middle point for all involved).  We can even take a few pics and vids and maybe even an article on this site.

We could even start a regional annual spring ride, but I can only organize the PNW regional ride.

Any thoughts?
