General Two Stroke Talk / Re: YZ250 or YZ125 - New Bike
« on: June 12, 2011, 06:33:17 PM »
get the yz 250. cheap to maintain and easy to work on. top end will last ages if you dont thrash it. my first race bike was a 2009 YZ250. barely used to turn the throttle.

gear it up, add a flywheel weight and a suspension revalve and you will be set.

parts are cheaper then ktm too. (in aus anyway)
I agree, buy the YZ 250 if you are primarily trail riding. 125's often struggle in hill climbs on trails, and KTM's are pretty expensive.

Hey, there is a Pro-Am in the race organization I am a part of coming up later this spring, if anyone on this site is interested. Our race organizers are hard at work finding sponsors to make the prizes significant as the race organization wants more pros to step up to the pro class. Anyways, just a thought, I would love for TSM to come to Canada.

Yeah perfectly put and been preached by all of us for years.

DO YOU THINK THAT 250 TWO-STROKES SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RACE AGAINST 250 FOUR-STROKES?

ROGER DECOSTER:  Yes. I think it would be fine. The two-stroke makes more horsepower, but it makes it over a narrower range, while the four-stroke makes less power, but has a broad powerband. I think they are equal machines. The two-stroke would be better in sand and deep loam, while the four-stroke would be better on harder dirt. It takes a more talented rider to race the two-stroke and I can see where it would be difficult for most of the current 250 four-stroke riders to make the change. I'd wouldn't oppose a rule change.

I don't think he would have been able to say that when he was still working for Suzuki.

I really would like to buy it, but I have to get my bike fixed first, before I can buy a new bike, how long can you hold the bike?

he must of grew out of the 85s really quickly because at age 14 he would of still been elgible to race and 85 in the amatuer ranks.
Maybe he is just really tall, when I was 14 I was over 6 feet, the 85 would not have worked for me.

Yeah I saw it too. Nothing near me though unless I want to get a passport.
I guess I am lucky, because it is hard for me to find gas with Ethanol

Hey Charles, are stickers available? I don't have enough money for one of Watson's graphics kits, due to a rebuild, but I would gladly put stickers on my bike, if you guys have some.

Technical / Re: Shorty Silencer vs Regular Length
« on: March 04, 2011, 10:20:01 PM »
I just recently had to take the shorty silencer off of my cr125, because it was falling apart. I decided to buy a powercore 2 rather than a shorty again because I hate loud bikes, and also because i like to rev my bike, not bog it. I can not wait to hear my bike with the new silencer

To be honest a two stroke magazine will sell like crack.
Meaning it will be a very expensive and hard to distribute product?
