Hmmm. Didn't realize it was that harsh. What do you guys recommend for a scrub-free wash?

Sounds like a lot of fun. Wish I could go. Those events are welcome down here in Florida as well. Hint hint.

These companies should make them again and with care. Look at the endurocross races... a 2 stroke wins almost every time. Nice and light with instant power for hopping over stuff. Thanks Taddy Blazusiak! Go KTM for still producing.

PURPLE POWER cleaner/degreaser. This stuff just makes the dirt and grime melt off. I first blasted my bike with high pressure water and then applied this stuff, let it sit for 5 minutes and rinsed. Looks like I detailed my whole bike, but never even touched it. I will be using this stuff from now on. Just thought you guys would like to know. Even makes the rims shiney!

When I was 16 I had an 82 RM250 without brakes. That was scary.

Really nice score Coop. You should have a lot of fun on it. BTW, I hate bent levers too. It always amazes me how they can bend to the point of looking like ram horns, but you can't bend them back even a hair without heat. Go figure.

He's like, "this is total bullpoo....stupid video, I learned nothing and just want to go on with my life." Come on, this guy doesnt care about the animals, he probably hunts anything that moves and hangs the heads on his bedroom walls. Any idiot knows not to go around a gate, or shred up state land.

Non-Moto / Going to Durhamtown in October

I don't know if any of you have ever been there, bu this is a great place to ride. It's located in Union Point, GA. They have 150 miles of one way trails, dirt drag strip, tracks, lodging etc. I try to go at least once a year or so. Check it out at www.durhamtown.com

I wish we had hillclimbing down here in Florida so I could go watch. Looks like tons of fun!

Super expensive to run since the fuel for those engines cost at minimum, $20 per gallon.

Technical / Re: cylinder wear

The first thing I would do is crack open the repair manual, get the compression psi range, and rent a compression tester. If it's in the normal range don't worry about it. If it's already off the bike, just have it rehoned and replated. It almost sounds like your getting some sand sucked in the intake somewhere. If you are, The piston ring will thinner on the intake side when removed. Next time when you clean your air filter, take some grease and smear it around the lip of the filter to seal it to the airbox.

Technical / Re: RM 250 Fork question
« on: May 26, 2010, 04:21:01 AM »
Thanks Graham472. I only found a couple of numbers on the forks. At the bottom on the inside of the fork there is a 271-P on one side, and a 271-L on the other. I looked on the inside of the white plastic fork cover which was designed for 01,02,03,04 models. RedfoxCR, I think it is a leak because I only get an oily residue buildup on one side.
