The track has reopened.

It is very compact.  Mostly 2nd gear with a couple places to hit 3rd.  It's a beginner / kid track.

I'd say it is worth it to check out and decide if you like for yourself.  I don't see myself going back for a month or so... hopefully the make the track bigger.

I've been riding my 03 cr250 a ton since 03.  Suspension has been rebuilt twice, and motor top ends only so far.  The bike is reliable, jetting sucks so you will need a jet kit.

It has a good motor, extremely strong mig and strong top, bottom is sad.

Suspension is soft stock.  Not harsh.

I have an 03.  All I did was pipe, reeds, and jet kit.

The thing really rips.  When it hits the power you better be holding on.
Not much bottom, good top end,  tons of mid.  I used to think it felt electric untill I rolled my KTM.

I've been riding motorcycles for 33 years. I just started "racing" 2 years ago. I started on a 02 RM250....and I fought that bike EVERY race. It tried to kill me repeatedly!

So I bought a KTM250F...WOW what a difference, I went from back of pack to top 3 finisher.....but I friggin HATE 4-strokes....

So after 1.5 years on the thumper I jumped back to a 02 CR250R.....and went right back to the back of the pack...candlesticking damn near every jump and I feel like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson!

WTH am I doing wrong????   Same track...same times....same class (age group). Thing scares the crap out of me because the power hits so hard and out of nowhere!

Stock bike...FMF Fatty pipe.

HELP !!!!!

Skidmark

You could always re-gear by taking a tooth off the back to mellow it down a bit.  Also, your suspension is old and probably worn.  It'd fix suspension; you'd be shocked at what a difference it can make.

Don't fear the power.  It's your friend.   :D

I'd like to see you pull it off.

What happened to the 250?  Were you not on a YZ250 last year?

Anyone ride out there?
It's mostly my "loacl" track.  Anyway, I spend a lot of time out there when I'm not on the road.  And I typically ride weekdays.

Anyone interested in rolling out there Tuesday 4/10?

I'll be there.

 :P

If it's lean it will surge like you wrote.

I bog is from the bike taking a big gulp of air... not enough fuel

Try a JD jet kit.  It cured my 03 CR250 which was doing the same thing as your ride.

General Two Stroke Talk / cr500 ?

you're gonna like the 500.  You'll laugh your ass off the first time you crack that throttle... honest.

If you want real power, try throwing a leg over a 200hp hill climber.  that's pucker power there.

I've ridden a couple 500's.  The power is awesome, but you can lug the thing all day too.  My bro has a 03 CR500af that he built.  It's one of the best bikes I've ridden.

If you can hang on to a 250, you can ride a 500.

The KTM lives again!
It took a couple weeks to get all my parts and I slapped the bike together last night.

Dealer would not cover anything, and I couldn't get in touch with KTM.  This was expected.

Also, the service disc is still unavailable.... what is up with that.  It's April already.

I hope I can get dealer help..

Good news for my parts though.  I was able to track down the 34tooth gear in PA.   Hopefully my bike will be back together by the end of next week!
