Here's a pretty cool vid from VitalMX. The guy buys a 94 cr500 off craigslist and races at Gatorback Cycle park. Awesome.

Love it! Now if you could add the smell of premix and a good 2-stroke sound bite, this site would be the ultimate in 2-stroke simulation! :D

General Two Stroke Talk / Bike testing at Budds Creek - TM/KTM/Yamaha
« on: April 08, 2012, 06:28:48 PM »
I emailed Wozney, told him to come out and film that day.  He makes some of the slickest MX videos on the net.  We'll see what he says, pretty sure he lives around here.

You are inviting GuyB right??? ;D

Ha! You should! Let him see a real test, and not some phoney baloney MXA/ TWMX test.

General Two Stroke Talk / 2001 CR 125 Engine options
« on: April 05, 2012, 01:59:40 PM »
Miedosoracing has a lot of time on CR rebuilds and deals with the air flow issue on the alum framed CR125s. Shawn36 is right, the engines after '97 weren't that much different, the problem was the air flow was restricted on the alum frames. Like I said, miedosoracing.com has everything you could need to make your '01 rip.

General Two Stroke Talk / A1 two stroke friendly?
« on: January 09, 2012, 09:46:48 PM »
I think any SX track is more suited to a smaller bike, period. A 250 2-stroke and 250F would do better in SX with an experienced rider. I think given a couple of weeks on a 2-stroke, that Villopoto, Reed or Stewart would have quicker lap times than on their 450. That's also why I think Cedric Soubeyras did so well on the 2-stroke, is because it is a better bike for SX, regardless of the surfaces.

General Two Stroke Talk / Well guys I have some very bad news...
« on: October 30, 2011, 11:23:21 PM »
Whew, that's a relief! I thought something really bad had happened.

You're still looking at a high performance 4-stroke that is still almost twice the displacement. And it has a larger power spread, and more torque. I'm not surprised that it won out. The power spread of a 250 s-stroke compared to a 250F is way more even. Even though the 2-stroke makes more peak power, the 250F makes up for it with power spread, making them virtually equal.

I've already mentioned that I'll put in $50 for the top 2-stroke finisher. A KTM 300 would be the best weapon for this (with a better looking front fender of course  :D).

Demuth would probably win against the 450s too in AX, if he rode it.
