I have 2.

The first was selling my CR500 AF last fall. I currently remedying that.

The second? Not taking a 5' 10" Swedish ski racer up on her offer to not fly back to the US and come to Sweden for the summer. Fail.

Roller = motor not needed.

Yup, I'm looking for a home for a '90 CR500 motor as after selling my 500AF I seem to be suffering AF separation anxiety. Badly.

I'm located in VT so if you have/run across anything in the North east may be interested.

05 CRF 450 conversion done by a small home shop in CT.

Bars on bike in Pic are Pro Taper on a high riser. Bike will need different bar perches to use those bars or I'll supply a set of 7/8" bars.

All motor work/suspension work has been done by Greg link of Lynks Racing [Lynk's Racing/... Gregg's resume boasts work with American Suzuki and American Honda Factory Arenacross teams as well as championship winning riders Buddy Antunez http://www.lynksracing.com/index.html]

98 motor: lower rebuilt [3 hours on lower] ago w/new Hinson basket/plates.

CR250 flywheel/ignition

Keihin Carb

Ironman rear sprocket

New ft/rear/ pads/rotors

FX seat cover w/step

MSR clutch lever

FMF Gnarly pipe

Fastway footpegs

DID V MX-ring chain

Tires:

Rear Dunlop MX 51  120x19" [1/2 hour on that tire]

Ft. Perelli MT 480 excellent condition

Suspension is set up for 250 lb. MX rider but I have original springs.

The bike had been built up with a variety of parts which I up graded to all 2005 parts and have about 3 hours on bike since that build. Lynks Racing also did the reassembly with upgraded parts.

Bike is located in west/central VT and will ship at only actual cost and is in same condition shown in pic.

Motivated seller asking $3500

Kinda like the little old lady that says she has a "Chevy" in her barn and it turns out to be a Vette.

Nice find.

This thing should not be in the garage.. Should be in the living room! This bike is nuts!

If I can whip myself back into racing shape, I want to race a 2010 Service Honda CR250.  I've been
off the bike for two years due to the evils of four stroke racing so it will require a lot of training and
perseverance to be ready by the Spring.

dogger

Doing the same thing but I've been off for around 18 years.....

....... I'm more comfortable on the 450, and I can ride it at  and find out.a consistent pace for a longer period of time..........

Which of course begs the question: How long has he been riding 4T?  I'm more 'comfortable' shooting an over/under in sporting clay competition but but I shoot a semi pretty durn well when I do. If I leave my "comfort zone" and get 'comfortable' with the semi would I be better off overall?

Would the racer be better off overall if he spent a couple months on the 2T?

I guess the only way to know is to make the plunge and find out.......but boy, it's hard to leave that comfort zone....

I think all comparisons [where someone had a solid foundation on either side of the coin] should always be viewed with a full understanding of just that.

I don't think the dirt bike industry is alone by any means when it comes to providing the consumer with what THEY want to provide the consumer with.

Human psychology is a huge factor in how/why we make decisions.
Getting people to ask question rather then just agree with the masses is the answer ATMO.  It's not as easy as some think.

The more we can inform, educate and not alienate others the better off we'll all be.

For the manufacturers, I would guess it's a numbers [$$$$] game. If there's a market someone will fill it and they're all in it to make money. Perhaps we can be part of that market movement.

I think many of them are thinking "what are those old guys thinking"?

That's what they be brought up with and understand just as us "old guys" understand try Open bikes. Many think it's all about what's "fastest" not about the developed skill it take to ride an "Open" bike fast.

Don't get mad at people that don't understand. Perhaps an influx of emails from people wondering why we need a fixed displacement and not just a truly 'open' class to Vital MX is in order.

Constructive criticism is much better/effective them criticism ATMO. ;)
