Gary Wells attempted to jump Ceasers Palace in 1980 and failed b/c he said someone moved the ramp.

This guy talks all kinds of shit on Evel Knevel if you check out his interview.

He hosts a ride through the Mexican Baja only for the most top riders. He also gives you a souvenir picture of him jumping over you on the beach.

Gary offers a high intensity Mexico off-road experience every month. Fewer than a dozen riders are allowed on each excursion, so there is a greater degree of camaraderie and control. All riders are expected to have high quality equipment and the endurance to ride hard for 200 miles per day. In exchange, you will experience parts of Mexico very seldom seen by gringos.

I don't know much about Gary Wells but it's hard for me to have too much respect for anybody that would bad mouth Evil Knevel as he was one of my childhood heroes who along with my father caused me to want to get involved in riding motorcycles and for that reason alone I have nothing but respect for Evil Knevel...!
Not to mention the bikes that Evel used to perform his stunts are a far cry from the bikes & equipment that are used by todays FMX riders & stuntmen!

Gary Wells is from around Evel's time also :)
-
I thought he was more from the eighties and used Honda's?
-
He is younger than Evel that's right, but I think he was actually around in the 70s. At least the way the article was written he talked about himself as if he was around during the same time.

The pictures show him on Honda's and Kawasaki's, Evel rode a Harley

Q: "How did it feel working with the legendary Evel Knevel?"
GW: "There was no working with Evel. He was totally inferior..."
Q: "Do you ever feel Evel's shadow is hard to escape?"
GW: "No, I'm the best in the world..."
So, I'm not saying he's as old as Evel, he is younger, but his time overlaps somewhere. Also, Evel could have road a BSA in 60's but he choose Harleys :)
Note I'm not a fan of this guy, I never heard of him before, just relaying what is portrayed in this interview.

I've definetly heard of Gary Wells I just don't know much about him. I do remember him in the late seventies but I've never seen him perform any stunts. :)
