Title: Crazy Ideas Competition!
Post by: JETZcorp on July 23, 2010, 01:44:37 PM
Here's an idea.  A while ago, there was a contest to see who could come up with the most interesting uses for a Chrysler 426 Hemi, and I think it would be fun for us to brainstorm creative or unusual applications that would be improved by the two-stroke engine.  If at all possible, write your submissions in the voice of an advertisement.

I'll start this off with something relatively mild and traditional.  A two-stroke wheelchair!  Perfect for anyone who has gone over the bars just before an unfortunate landing, or found themselves caught unawares by their new 450F laying down a thick dose of engine braking in midair whilst attempting to jump a triple.  With this device, even Steven Hawking can know the pleasures of roosting a new Marianas Trench, or rolling down the sidewalk on a wheelie.  Base models come with a kick-start, electric start optional.

I'll see your bar stool and raise you an adjustable bed.  Build up the revs, pop the clutch, get ready for a zero-to-comfort time of 0.02 seconds.

Would you like the optional wheelie-bar with that?  We also offer paddle- and trials-tires as alternatives to the stock knobbie to suit whatever needs the customer's disability demands of the hardware.

How about a 18" wheel with a wicked Dunlop knobby powered by a KTM-300xc-w engine with e-start & a rekluse auto-clutch mounted on the right side of my brand new oak cane...... ??? I think I could get that to work?!?.. ;D

I almost forgot about this topic.  I was actually thinking just a few hours ago about how I would go about rigging a shopping cart to accept a 490 motor.  You know those little sign things on the shopping carts that tell you not to put your kid in the basket?  Well, I'm not a kid, so that's where I'd sit!

I'm thinking of something a little more covert and practical, a 700c Maico powerplant carefully wedged into a Vespa scooter with necessary chassis updates. Call it a revenge of the nerds weapon.

I'll keep my ideas to my self for right now, but it involves two strokes and stupid amount of power.  :-X

A 2 liter V-8 2-stroke engine is my idea of fun, that's 8 CR250 or KTM 250 cylinders. Now I just have to find a shit box car to dump it in.  :P

Or I could use 125 cylinders and get a 1 liter V-8. That would be nice in a prototype racecar if rules would allow it.  8) Is it crazy yes, but is it impossible.. hell no!!
