Title: Rotary Valve EFI 360.
Post by: Flettner on May 26, 2017, 03:01:06 AM
This is a project I started way back when the original TSM was up and running. I have far too many projects and the 360 got sort of left behind, sleeve engine took up some time then the 700 twin Autogyro engine and many different cylinder casting projects and then the HCCI test engine.

Wow, two totally new concepts in this engine (chamber pressure-wave driven metering and variable rotary valve throttle). Looking forward to your updates!

I'll get some pictures up, but have I had a battle with this forum regarding posting pictures. I'll get someone that knows what they are doing to help. (a young person)

I am stoked to see this and will be watching closely!

I'll send you a message with how to add pictures.

Thanks for including us in this next adventure in the design of the two stroke!

You can use the "Add Attachment" function of the forum. Back in the day storage on your hosting account was limited and expensive. That is no longer the case so I removed the limits for attachments. Just keep hitting (more attachments) as needed.

Here we are casting some cylinders in the back yard

These were some cylinders we cast a few years ago, this engine is for use in Autogyros (aviation), 700cc twin with internal gear reduction. Electric start and counter balance shaft.

This is the actual 360 crank case being cast and machined, CC601 heat treated to T6.

Ordered a set of YZ X clusters this week, if nothing else the Kawasaki 350 has taught me that a close ratio is a waste of time with this type of engine. so as soon a these turn up I can re assemble the engine and it can go back in the frame for good.
Probably look at ordering the Link ECU (extreme) next week.
Considering running a mechanical fuel pump as my charging system is not large and fuel pumps do use a bit of energy. Would need to charge the fuel system before the engine was started though. I want to keep the electrical requirement to a minimum.
