Title: KTM 250 HELP
Post by: rlaj1004 on November 04, 2013, 12:50:44 AM
I was riding this weekend and my bike did something funny
Totally randomly in 4th, after a double when I pinned the throttle it bogged, no power for about 1 second, then ran normal. It did it again after a step up, each time I pinned it , it bogs and then goes. I was on my last time out so after the 3rd or 4th time I decided to stop. Wasn't at any incline or anything, just randomly ever so often.

Im in the process of dismantling my bike for cleaning but if anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.

Pull the bowl off the carb and look for some dirt.  I'm wondering if you got dirt in the carb

Sounds like you may need to reset your float level.

Fuel starvation, deff would check float height and main jet.

Thats what I thought, and what I am hoping for. I was thinking either a piece of dirt or something in the carb. Was wierd cus I rode all day with no issues. I was on my last time out for the day.  Air filter was clean before the day too.
I am going through the whole bike now just in case.

Usually dirt gets into the carb via gas tank. Why people run fuel filters.

I'd suggest checking for air leaks. Bout a year ago some guy had the same issue turned out to be an air leak caused by the shock of landing a big jump. Cracked cases or something if I remember.

More likely to be the above things though, just something to keep in mind :)
