Title: Alpine star Bionic compatable Armour
Post by: evo550 on June 03, 2013, 11:04:55 AM
So for years I've been cutting laps with nothing but a Bionic neck brace and paper thin Jersey and just "suckin' it up", but after a recent big off which left me with a fractured spine and pelvis, Ive decided that I don't bounce that well anymore and have decided to invest in some protection, problem is trying to find some decent armour (front and back) that's compatable with the Alpine star neck brace....anyone?

I have the A10 chestprotector

it is falling apart, particularly the front there the white material is bonded to the black stuff in front of the shoulder, were the materials meet the the plastic is tearing. will be ziptied soon.also some of the lining has come off

I'd have expected more for 170 bucks.

Freestyle armour is the **** as far as raw protection from smash ups goes. It will of course shrug off roost as well.

http://www.mxstore.com.au/protective-gear/pressure-suits/sixsixone-2011-vapor-pressure-suit.html           This is similar but not quite the same as what I had. Essentially a chest guard, kidney belt, should and elbow pads rolled into one suit.

These guys will do right by you and have some pressure suits in stock somewhere. I grew out of mine unfortunately. It was quite hot but that would be welcome now that its the winter months. Doc claimed it saved me from a ruptured kidney when I landed on a big arse rock on my back.

Yeah, I'm thinking that a pressure suit is the way to go, although I've tried one in the past...once  (it didn't get a second outing) I might have to be a bit more patient.
Shanes, is the A'star suit durable? I've read a couple of good reports on the net.
Can't wait to be like all the other vets on the line.......All grid iron'd up. ;D

I would strongly suggest the lightest long sleeve shirt you can find. They chaff like crazy after about a lap.
