Title: YZ250 cylinder question

I have a line on a good price on a new in box cylinder but it's for a 2002 yz will it fit my 05 even though its got a different part number (according to the guy with the cylinde)???

I always thought the engine was unchanged from 99 to 13

Despite what you hear,they did make changes,just not big ones.I'm sure it will bolt on but I'm not sure about PV fit.

I have an 02 and an 05 yz.  When the 02 needed replating, I sent it in to max power for a 285 kit and put the 05 on my 02.  Shouldn't be a problem.  If they made any changes it was probably just to the porting....  The 05 285 is for sale BTW..

The whole bike.  I've got 5 bikes and ride the 285 the least amount so it's time to go.  Very few hours on it since new.  Raced it a few times on GP and XC but it only gets ridden a few times/yr...
