How many here have been to Durhamtown. We have been going since 05 and everytime there is something new. Last time (spring) there was a new high speed "GP" track. Last week was Saturday night live bands and a new Tiki bar. Going back for spring break. I highly reccomend everyone close enough to check this place out. Web is durhamtown.com. From the smallest slowest riders to top expert MX there is something for everyone. Did I mention the Tiki bar? Wife wants another margarita.
Seriously, If anyone needs info on this place from a customers perspective we have been there about 15 times.

Thanks. I live about two hours north of Durhamtown, and am going there for the first time ever this Saturday. I'm excited for the variety in tracks. I might start on the MX4 track, it just looks fun and I could get a feel for the new YZ.
Will my family be able to spectate easily as I go from track to track? Thanks again for your insight.

We did about 500 laps at MX4. Small but fun track. Must do things are hillclimbs, redlands, GP track, trail G (scenic), and of course MX4. If you have kids going there is a BMX track behind the lodge that is lighted. Have fun.
-
Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes!
-
The BMX track is surely a long stretch and one of the best place to go with kids. I enjoyed the family ride there. Would surely recommend it.

Welcome to the forum!

Headed back around March 28th or 29th for spring break Any other 2 strokes going?
-
Early invite everyone. Heading back first half of thanksgiving week. Anyone who beats me on the GP track gets drinks on me that night. Don't care if I have to serve up the drinks or not, just want to scream our 125's with some other 2 strokes. One caveat. If you beat me on the GP track the next test is how fast to go DOWN the hill climbs and be able to stop before the trees greet you.

OK, Cool. But be advised my 2012 is WAY more advanced than your 09. I have the smaller clamp bolts on the front brake line, a clear advantage. Sadly I do not have the super slick white 2013 rear fender which adds so much more power. We are in RV site #2 up behind the lodge in a Fuzion toyhauler, See ya on the hillclimbs and the Tiki bar.

Awesome, I`m trying to make it out to Gatorback on Nov. 26 for the KTM ride day out there too.
-
Did not know about that. Please send me some info. Thanks in Advance. Great track in Ocala (Hardrock MX) not far from there with several tracks. Last 2 years we wimped out after turkey day but for several years we did D-Town and then Hardrock Friday & Sat. Show up and give us a reason to clean air filters Thursday before football.

In addition, there's some info on ktmusa.com. Looking forward to buzzing around the gp track. Hopefully they water it.

Just revived the golf cart batteries and got most of the gas gunk out of the wife's 4 wheeler carb. KX 85 gets chain and sprockets. YZ 250 and 125 get new rear tires. New air filters for all. Some numbers on the 125 and we are all set (that is if everything is OK with the camper which has not been touched since spring break). I have to get it all ready since I will be away most of November working in Wisconsin. At least GA will seem warm when I get there! Anyone going?
-
No

2 weeks away now. 377, borrow a bike. Hope the house turns out nice. Anyone else, just show up at the tiki bar and share a drink.
-
I guess I have to go now!!! I may be there, but it'll be with a group of CRF450s and a 200XC-W. Or I'll just sack up and dust you on a 1979 RM125.
-
Dude, You know how I feel about the 450's . Bring that RM out! I would love to see and maybe if its OK ride it. After my Indian 100 and Honda MT125 my first real MX bike was a 78 RM100. It had long stroke CR250 forks on it and some local pro also welded new shock mounts on the swing arm to jack up the back. Crude but was awesome back in the day. Damn, I'm as old as the dirt under my fender. Drink like a top pro though. Campsite 2 behind the lodge. I'm the old fat guy, easy to spot.
-
The RM's not going to make it. I, however, might!
-
And I'll just have to make up for it with some good stories and bringing the beer. It's good to know that you are an efficient alcohol filtration unit.
-
get your a$$ there motoxr.
-
I can't. I've been having some big issues in my personal life lately.
Combined with the whole Army thing, I've been off two wheels for a few months.
-
sucks, good on you then.
-
We get in Friday around noon. Plan was to ride Saturday but may have to settle for a half day on Friday, Rain in the forecast. Sunday and Monday look good. Bikes are perfectly clean waiting to turn orange (not KTM, Georgia clay).
-
good luck msam.
-
I hope that you have a great ride, and they prep those hard-as-rock tracks!
-
In all my years one of my most painful get offs was a quick wash out on the main track. Front end just went away braking hard for a wide turn. Some good guys in the campsite next to us loaded us up as I was done ( 2T or 4T MX guys are the best). We ride at a place in Ocala FL named Hardrock and trust me, that dirt is the same as D-town.MX 4 is like a rock but is perfect for some fun laps. GP is fast and also like rock. They do have some real nice dirt on the Bomber track though. Anyway I will raise a glass (more like a red party cup) for TSM while there and count the two strokes and trade stories. Just like last time.
-
117 miles to go tomorrow. Weather is now in our favor. Friday will be set up camp, tires & brakes, Gather Firewood, Bonfire, and of course hitting the D-town Tiki bar. Signing off until it's over. Too much fun to be tapping a keyboard. Kids have glamis and 199 vid's on now. Love my little motor heads. Gotta go!
-
Results are in. It was cold and I am old. 46 degrees while cruising on the fast trails is a little chilly. We waited till afternoon to do the GP track (high speed). Campfire weather was perfect as was the drinkin weather. . Saw the same amount of two strokes as last year. A friends kids blew up his KX250F (due to lack of maintenance). Of course I will report the damage and cost to rebuild. May not be too bad because it just lost power, compression and quit. No boom, no crunch, and still has a little compression. Funny thing was even though they were short one bike neither dad nor son took up an offer to use one of our 2 strokes. Anyway since they ran a bulldozer blade on all the hill climbs I decided to make my own runs between the trees. Damn there are a lot of hidden roots under the leaves. I hit a couple of trees right at the top and now have a permanent scar on the 125 fork leg. Did make it up two times though. My 14YO son spent the whole trip riding my 250. It wore him out and he had his own issue with a tree on the last day due to fatigue. Wants his 125 next time. I love it when a plan comes together. I will revive this thread as the spring break trip approaches.
-
cool.
-
BTT. Arriving on 4/21 for the week. Dirt bike Utopia. Anyone up for it? All 125's this trip. My kid tried to kill himself on my 250 and now is humble as pie willing to listen to the old man and stick to the tiddler!

Jealous!
