are these impossible to get from a dealer? Im ready to go sign the dotted line and no one has any 250 sx's on their floors! Talk about shattered dreams :-[

Whats up in the states ?
Has KTM underestimated demand for these ?
I have read on this site a few times about guys not being able to get hold of one.
Dealers here in NZ have them on the floor.

Our KTM dealer here has 1 on the floor and another in back.....are they suppose to be hard to get?

I called the 3 closest dealers to me and they said they cant get anymore untill the 2011's come out. They even went as far to say that they have tried to get some from other shops in southern california but everyone is out. Now the question is.. do i settle for the ex? Are they very similar? I'm assuming id have to change some things to make it more like the sx...

The sx & ex have different suspension set up.
The sx has sealed cartridge forks.
The ex has open cartridge forks.
If you are racing the sealed cartridge forks are the way to go but if you are just trial riding the open cartridge are softer.
The motors are the same and so is the frame.
What type of riding are you doing ?.
You should look at the TM250 & Husqvarna WR250.
Both great bikes.

Im gonna be doing more track riding and racing more than anything so from your info the sx is obviously the better choice. I found a couple dealers about 2 hours away that have some luckily. Now the craziness begins lol how are 03 sx's also? i found one on craigslist for a decent price. 2400? good deal?

the '03 250 SX has one of the greatest engines on my all time list of great engines. there is a 11 hp jump in a 1500 rpm range! it's crazy fast and silly fun. if you trail ride in snotty conditions it is most likely too much but if you drop a tooth on the rear sprocket it could be darn good. a riding buddy of mine has had his since he bought it new leftover in '04. he is 250 lbs. and it pulls him around like an open bike.
