Post by: Logan Dewey on August 20, 2012, 10:07:09 PM
ughh, I start school as a frshman tomorrow, I was wondering if it is generally easy. I don't have any hard classes, am I gonna get alot of homework? because I never really got much last year. I hope it doesn't interfere with mx :/
And I am scared about new people and new stuff... :(

Don't worry man. Your middle school teachers probably scared the crap out of you truly to prepare you for high school. It is NOT bad. You have much more freedom, teachers let you make decisions, and speaking on behalf of my experience, the home work load isn't terrible. You make new friends, keep old ones, and have a good time. It flies though... Believe me, I'm almost done with it and it did fly...

School is awesome, making new friends, even better!

Just climb on a table at lunch time and ask "who rides motocross here?" after the answer, the last question "and who rides 2 strokes?!"...done!!

Enjoy man!!

I'm going to be doing the exact same in less than a year.

I can agree with this. I am adult student back in school after two back surgeries. I started at Pitt for Electrical Engineering but had to transfer to a smaller/cheaper school (California University of Pa) for EET. The number of students between freshman and sophomore years drops significantly when kids realize how hard engineering majors are haha. You can't be a slacker in engineering. Do ALL the homework plus extra, do all the reading, don't miss class, etc., and you will do fine. Otherwise you will have a  hard time.

Well Logan, how is school going?

I'm usually pretty good with homework, so that shouldn't be a big issue... Mechanical engineering school is that hard eh? It wont steer me off, I can take it (I hope)  ;D

That's all?  ;D I get about 2 at least every night with college classes and trig/pre-calc... That's not bad. I still find time to practice for hours too, you just have to balance out your schedule and find time to do what you love to do. The only challenge is going to be winter (Depending on where you live) when it gets dark at like 4:30.

I always did my homework early morning before school while my brain was fresh and ready which then left my time after school free for riding. Although it will now be a llittle pointless me getting up and doing it before school as Iv just had to sell my bike to afford my car insurance so that I can get to school, hopefully get another one in a year or so.

You weren't meant to say that, he's supposed to think he'll get loads of homework and that if he doesn't do it he'll fail. But ye forgot to do most of my homework but still left with As and Bs, high schools easy.

Give school your maximum effort, so when you're old you don't have to wonder if you could have done better, and how doing better would affect your current way of life.

If you know exactly what you want to do for a career, if you know the exact requirements to get there, then give school the effort that getting there requires plus a bit more for good luck. Its different in America but the education system for Queensland (here in Oz) is so unbelievably pathetic that school doesn't really count.
