Title: 2007 (2010) RM 250 for sale - 15 hours - SOLD!!
Post by: CCOADY454 on August 03, 2011, 12:02:02 PM
2007 RM 250 100% stock bought brand new in mid 2010.
I'm giving up MX and moving towards Enduro and trail riding (KTM 300 in my sights).  I bought it from a dealer that had it in a crate in August of 2010.  I broke my collar bone and separated my shoulder a month later, after about 10 hours of riding.  This year, I've put 0 hours on the track and maybe 5 hours on the farm (probably less).

I changed the oil every other ride.  There's the typical small dents on the factory pipe (small) and normal boot scuffs on the frame.  The front fender has a few scratches on it and I replaced the brake lever for a shorter one.  The factory tire still has 75% knobby left on it and the bike runs perfect and is super clean.  It's practically brand new.  I can post a picture if needed, but really all you need to do is look online since mine is bone stock and almost new.  $3,100 OBO, I live in Taylorville, Illinois

It will definitely help your sale to post a picture(s) of your actual bike. People will want to see it for they consider it/buy it. If you need help posting one let me know.

Thanks Coop.  I know how to post the pictures, I just haven't taken any of it since I brought it home new.  I just cleaned it up last night and am going to take pictures for the Craigslist ad so I may just post that on here along with some higher resolution picture.

This is from August 2010 (maybe late July). The dealer really cranked it down to my trailer.

You're lucky to have found an 08.  From what I was told, they were limited in production....or they sent most to other countries in 08.  I have a few people interested in it, but no offers yet.

That's a hella good price.  I paid $3650 for the 08 and feel like I got a bargain every time I twist the throttle.

Just watch out that you don't give the bike away, because it's not really the "season" for buying bikes.  A lot of people aren't lucky enough to live somewhere where you can ride year-round so they don't want to buy and have to watch it rust in the garage.

If you've got your eye on a bike right now, you might be better off holding onto the RM to sell in the Spring for closer to your original price.  And go ahead buy the bike you want from a desperate off-season seller.

Orrrrr...you could save yourself some money and instead of being just another orange bike on the trail, buy a:

295cc and that kit is $660. If you race dtx, hare scrambles, hill-climb, or ice-racing we can build an "80-over" (2mm) 265cc for only $550 parts and labor.

What's Included?

All of our kits include cylinder porting, head mods, and powervalve service. You get you choice of 3 powerbands and 3 fuel types. All the top end parts are included too like a Wiseco piston kit, top end bearing, alignment pins, and oversized gasket kit.

Powerbands and Fuel Types

The 3 powerband choices
1)   More low to mid-range with a flatter top end. By concentrating the power down in the lower revs it makes a powerband that lugs without chugging yet is responsive enough to steer with the rear wheel. Perfect for technical mountain climbing, single-track, Arenacross, ice-supermoto, short-track and TT.
2)   More mid-range to top end and a bit softer off the bottom end. This choice is best for expert mx, desert, dunes, dirt drags, beach racing, and dtx.
3)   Wider smoother powerband with less mid hit in the mid-range. This choice makes the power wider like a 4-stroke but without the harsh deceleration. It's great for off-road, hill-climb, and intermediate mx.

The 3 fuel types
We machine your head flat then machine the squishband and bowl to match your powerband and fuel choices. The fuel types are unleaded pump 92, race gas of 98-110, and E85. Pump gas is the most popular choice because you can also run race gas. E85 requires really high compression, a wide squishband, and much richer jetting.

APPLICATION CHART
KAWASAKI
KX250 1993-2011
SUZUKI
RM250 2003-2008
YAMAHA
YZ250 1999-2011
HUSQVARNA
CR/WR250 1998-2011
You will have the only yellow 2T in the woods.  A low-range 300 kit with a FMF Gnarly with another tooth in the rear and a 13-ounce flywheel weight with the RM's handling would climb like a mountain goat.  Although I'll go for the "overall" curve if I ever decide to get one.  Better for the hardpack tracks I ride.

I've got a lot of seat time on a mid-high Gorr YZ300 with a FMF Fatty pipe and its like shifting into hyperspace on long straights.  He knows how to port.

I had a KTM 300 in my sights, but I picked up a cheap 1995 CR 500 that needs some work (plastic and frame restoration.  I'm planning to add a light and a parachute,  and use it for dual sport races.
