Title: Stephanie's KX125
Post by: AFG on June 05, 2011, 12:02:41 PM
I am going to try and put up some picts and video of my daughter and her KX 125's. I am learning this photo bucket thing as I go along so I hope they show up and everyone likes them. She really loves the 125's she has two,one stock and one mod. She is on her way to Ponca this year and if people are interested I can post her progress as she goes. The photo was after the Women's Cup at Freestone on the May31st. The video is taken at Cycle Ranch in Floresville Texas. Right now she sits 3rd in points in the 125-250 Women's Non Pro, and 6th in the 125 Two Stroke only Class. She went 5-5 for 5th at the Women's Cup. They combined Beg,Nov,Int together. She had a great battle with the woman who ended up 6th, and they were rapidly catching 3rd and 4th and passing atleast one Int. in the process. Here are some more picts from Freestone. They raced the same national track as Dungey and the boy's did on Saturday. We are from San Antonio. Both of us love Cycle Ranch. Some of the best dirt around, and the people are really nice. Steph went out Sunday with her Mom. I am stuck here on the couch, I had surgery Friday and they have me on lockdown for 8-10 days . It was really weird not being there with her. She told me she rode well, but was wasn't really comfortable doing the back to back doubles before the catchers mit w/o me there. We usually go out every Sunday because on Saturdays I help out @ Extreme Powersports (James is her sponsor). But with her going to Ponca and doing the WMA cup we haven't been in town much lately. She's got a race on the 25th& 26th in Decatur Texas for the last qualifier, but she only has to race the 25th to be sure she makes the top twelve in the 125 two stroke class (she's already locked in for the women's). So after the race on the 25th we'll drive striaght back to Floresville so she can ride the first round of the Texas Summer series. Long drive to make both races but, I think it's worth it, as we should all support our home tracks. We'll be out this Thursday, and Sunday( if I can ride along by then, otherwise she'll be with Mom ). If you are there come over and visit. I bought a big white van to make the trips easier (it has her # on the hood). We usually park right down the hill between the showers and the water tower.

I will be out on Thursday to do training with one of my students. I may do a little riding myself for a change.
If you dont mind me asking what does James do for you with sponsorship? I have several kids that I sponsor her in SA. I am always looking for more good people to help out. Send me a PM and we can talk about it if you are interested.

I am very happy to hear that. I really hope to see more girls and women on the track. Some of the closest racing is in the women's classes, and I have yet to meet any of Steph's fellow racers that are not really nice. One race not long ago Steph and another woman traded the lead at least 6-7 times in both motos. People were on the fence chearing them both on. It was really cool. Here are a couple of video's from Austin Del Valle a few weeks ago.We were working corners, and a rhythm section.
That is great! Showed my 13 year old daughter this thread. She is pumped!

I am sorry, was going to try and video today when she rode but I was too discumbubalated with the heat and all. Today was the first time I had ventured back out since the surgery and was kinda out of it. spent most of the day watching from the shade and walking around reaaally slow, trying not to trip and fall. It's unbelieveable how much even a minor surgery takes out of you. I'm sure I'll be up to more by Sunday, and will get some fresh video while the track is nice and loamy. Thanks

Thanks. I feel better each day. I really want to ride but it will be at least another 3-4 weeks before I can do that. Right now I'm just glad I'll be back and fully functional ( in about 1-2 wks ) as Steph's mechanic for the upcoming races. I am lucky that she has learned alot of the basics already ( filter, oil, chain, washing the bike, load and unload bikes etc.. ) with me just supervising. She put her new Triple Clamps on this morning.

Sweet good to hear. I never really wait the full recovery time. I know I should but when I get the chance to ride anymore I can never say no. Unless the bike is broken. I wish I had a mechanic :D

Had great training at Cycle Ranch yesterday!
Track was great in the morning and dry and rough in the afternoon which made for great practice!
