Title: Programmable Ignition
Post by: 2T Institute on December 03, 2010, 04:42:42 AM
Going to be trialing a new programmable ignition very shortly, will be a HV ignition (no battery required) 78mm rotor that can run clock or anti clockwise. The stator will have 35W output so with a large capacitor you might have a small amout of lighting. CDI will be fully programmable (with 2 maps, TPS, power jet and servo functions)and a VERY attractive price.
More info when I get my hands on them

Will this ignition substitute for Motoplat and will there be a CZ variation? As well, I am going to need an ignition for a Maico 125 (left side and oil bath).

will basicaly be universal, you might have to machine the flyheel taper yourself to suit the crank of the bike.We managed to convince the manufacturer to not machine the flywheel boss on a limited amount of rotors. Oil Bath??????

Cool,if you're tricky you should be able to gear your bike to go in reverse too. :)
If I remember correctly my exc just had a 35w output so it should be every bit as good as that.

On those rotary valve 125 Maicos the ignition is whirling around in the side case cavity next to the clutch.

Do you think "oil bath" and "programmable ignition" sound like they would be compatable :D

There are DC/DC ignitions that can use a Hall effect sensor, they require a battery though.

So I can run one of these on my NF4 without fitting a battery?

Damn, 2T institute you seem like a bit of a performance master when t comes to the 2 stroke!
I'd be dead keen for one of these if it would fit my Maico.

Hell, if a bulk discount is available I'll buy a whole stack for all my bikes....
