Title: A Good Day riding with my son
Post by: eprovenzano on October 17, 2010, 06:40:24 PM
My son and I went to the track today...  Unfortunately it was Quadfest at the track so no bikes on the track just quads.....  Fortunately the track also has 500 acres of trails.  So my son and i hit the trails, and we hit them hard.  Itâ??s been a while since just my son and I had a chance to ride together.  When we hit the trails, and I decided to ride at near hare scramble race speed...   I will say something for loud 4 stroke exhausts I always knew where my son was without having to look for him...  I wasn't sure if my son would be able to keep up at the pace we were setting.  He was and I can only recall having to stop and wait once or twice for a few seconds.
It was also fun for me to watch him on the MX track.  Unfortunately he was wiped out from riding the trails so his performance on the track was not real good, but he had a great time.  I am physically spent...  We rode for a solid 5 hours and nothing broke... on the bikes or us

So a day riding with your son....  yep, Priceless

Good for you eprov, there's nothing like outdoor time with the little ones. Before you know it they won't want anything to do with the old man.I hope you never admitted to him that you were wiped :)

Mark Twain once said "At age 15 he couldn't believe how stupid his father was, however, by age 19 his father's intelligence had improved somewhat". Enjoy riding with your children while you can because life can bring many changes. :D

I hear that. I don't have kids but we are guardians of our nephew. Up until he hit 16 we rode together all the time. Now driving, girls, and football (not necesarily in that order) are his concerns haha.

Oh Ford, I would never admit how sore I was... although he did say every muscle in his body was sore...

Coop I know exactly what you mean..  my son is now 20 almost 21, so he is now getting back into riding again.  At 16 we were all interested in girls, girls, cars, girls, football, cars, girls...  My son was no different.  I liked his statement on the way home... " Boy that was soo much fun, I don't know why I stopped riding...  "
