Title: Super nice CR125/134. Former works bike
Post by: redrider611 on July 26, 2010, 07:32:10 AM
Hey everyone,
I am new here. Just like most of you, I am a big 2 stroke lover. I raced off and on for 20+ years. I mainly restore bikes these days. I do ride when I get a chance though.

Here is my last build:
When I got it, it had been ridden hard. I rebuilt it from the frame up.

The following info is stamped into frame and cases.
08847
HRC
11-2-02 (cases have 11-4-02 on them)
S. LAMSON

I know in 02 Lamosn rode for Husky and he broke his leg. In 03 he signed on with ECC. I have tried to research the bike as much as possible but could not find anything. At that point, I went to higher sources. I called some old friends of mine who were tech's during that time and asked them. They all had the same answer. It was very possible that he had a deal going with Honda and that deal fell through. They said when those kind of things happen most of the bikes go to a private auction. At that point they get filtered out into the general public over time.

No matter what the history is, itis still a SWEET bike.

It was missing some parts so I had to replace them with current items.

Mods:
Zeta Billet levers
Renthal twinwalls
BRP upper / lower triple clamps
Billet stem nut
Billet pipe mounts
Billet brake clevis
Fly billet kill switch
Hard coated fork tubes / shock body (other susp parts are hard anodized as well)
Black Excell rims
Pro wheel spokes
Ceramic coated fork lugs
Front / rear wave rotors
DID gold chain
134 bore cylinder (HRC work)
Carb mods
V-force reed valve
Hot rods crank
Billet front / rear wheel spacers (blue HRC parts)
Billet axle blocks
Billet front line clamp
Carbon front line guide
SDG seat
Twin air filter
Hand built works pipe
Works FMF silencer
Coolant overflow tank
HRC lower linkage set up
Black oxide coated trans
Hard black anodized calipers
Front caliper has billet pistons
SS brake lines
Works connection radiator braces
Radiator guards
Moose Wide pegs
I am sure I have missed a few things.

Thanks coop. I have it for sale, but will hate to see it go if it sells. If not, it will become eye candy inside the spare room at house.

Holy crap! That is a bu-tload of stuff! So, I guess Honda bored and replated the cylinder at the factory? Have you ridden it yet? I'm pretty sure it hauls a--!

Yea, It was on ebay. A friend of mine posted it.

No, I have not ridden it. I ran it for 0.1hrs on the stand. I then drained all fluids except for brake fluid and sent it off to dealer for display.

Would it be ok for me to post it in the for sale section? Being new to the forum I don't anyone to think that is why I joined.

I hate to sell it but I have other bikes to build so this on needs to go.

This pic was taken this morning. It now sits in the "dirtbike" room at the dealer.
That's right, all the "thumpers" are looking up at the king now.  ;D

The only reason why I am selling it is because I need the funds to finish another bike.
Otherwise, I would sit in the spare bedroom. LOL

Very  sharp  cr , great work on her. I  just  tore down  an  06 cr125, alot of  hours  on the tear down. I  have a 04 cr144 that needs  assembly  too. What  kind  of  ignition  and  what  was  done to the  cases, just wondering. In  02  wasn,t  there  2  satalite  honda  125  teams, Plano  and  Shark, they  had  alot of  riders. I  remember  they sold  everything, complete bikes, custom pc pipes, pc cylinders, etc.  Lammy  was  a  honda  125  guy, but  with  the  other  satalite  riders one  being  Scott Sheak, honda  prob., didn,t want  to  pay  Lammy  big bucks.

From what I was told by a friend on cali the frame was done by HRC and rest was done by a satellite team. To my best understanding it was a situation that fell through between Honda and Lammy. Once that happened the bike was sold, etc. It was between the time frame of his transition from Husky to ECC. Not really and history on it but still cool to have.

A friend of mine has two PC bikes. Matt Walker 02 KX125 and one Mike Browns bikes. Browns is in BAD shape and missing a ton of parts. Walker's is complete but needs a complete frame off build as I did with this CR. Once the CR sells I am going to do Walker's bikes.

Redrider611 - that would make an amazing article/story for the main site. If you document it with some photos and a little bit of background information, it would be awesome.

I'll gladly publish it if you are interested.

Thanks!

It would be nice if you could keep it and find another way to fund the next project.
