Hi Gary - that's and easy question to answer. I am mostly retired from
riding these days. Three kids in diapers and a full time job really cuts
into my riding time, not to mention budget. My good friend Bob from Open
Air Powersports offered me a bike to use this season. It is a sweet white
Monster Energy Kawasaki 450. I would have to be a complete idiot to pass up
that offer! Since Kawasaki is not making a 2 stroke it really wasn't an
option. Truthfully I am just happy to be out riding once in a while.
I did read the message board. Some people are only happy if they are
complaining. But thanks to the others. The bottom line is I am a 2 stroke
fan. I would love to see a return of the 2 stroke if even in a limited
capacity. It would help the sport I have devoted my life and livelihood to
healthy. I believe the two stroke motorcycle will keep more people involved
in our sport. I also believe they produce a better caliber of rider.
For the record, I raced 500's for many years. There is nothing like a big
bore 2 stoke. Most fun I have ever had on a motorcycle and my best racing
memories. I always rode Honda's then and those machines taught me the
definition of respect. My number one riding memory is dropping into gravity
cavity at Unadilla with the 500 pinned. I am smiling as I type that!
Listen, the few rides I have had on the Open Air 450 were great....well at
least the bike was great. The bikes on the showroom floor today are
outstanding. Anyone can see the 4 stroke is here to stay. Manufacturers
have invested way too much to give it up. That said, I would really like to
see the 2 stroke have a chance on the showroom floor as well. I am happy to
support that cause in any way.
Thanks!

Sounds like a great reason to me ;D

:)Well I'm NOT complaining or anything like that but to be 100% honest I to would take the KX-450f to race if it was free! And ONLY if it was offered to race free of charge...ie-top end rebuilds, valve adjustments & such included because we smoker fans here all know that all of these so called great new 4-strokes out on the dealer floors basically have the life span of gypsie moths & most of us have to work for a living to support our families and such and I don't know about the rest of you awesome smoker fans on this GREAT site but I sure was'nt born with a silver spoon jammed down my throat! But I do know that there are some fortunate ones out there who were... ::)

Hell, if someone gave me one of those for free, I'd take it, too. Though, really, I'd turn right around and sell it (if I were allowed to, I don't know if this is a gift situation or a borrowing situation) and use the proceeds to get me two old Maicos. Something tells me that this plan of action would be more suited to myself than to Aaron, however.

Aaron is a stand up guy!!
I look forward to spending more time talking to him... Thanks G-Money for asking him and posting his reply.
A free bike is tough to turn down! A few racers that had considered racing two-strokes on the National level have been offered four-strokes for this amazing price. Not surprising that they took the deal.
Personally I prefer to drive a Ferrari but right now my ride is a Honda Accord.... ;D ;D

HONDA?! That's like Paul Watson wearing a seal-fur coat, except not.
