Hey guys,
Are we going racing this weekend? I just checked out the entry list for Budds Creek and couldnt see Mike's name on the entry list. I just cant wait to see that bike with Mike on it line up on the start line. Please tell me we will see it in action this weekend !!!!!!!!!!!
-
We are just as surprised as you are not to see Mike's name on that list!!
I have placed a call into MX Sports... hopefully there has been a mistake.
To say we are bummed right now would be putting it mildly.
I'll update as soon as we have some additional news.
-
Man that's a bummer. Hopefully it is a correctable mistake.
-
Oh, come on!
I spent the whole day at Mount Morris thinking to myself, "Well, this basically sucks but next week at Budds'll be a lot better!"
Hope so.

;D I hope Mike makes it to Budds Creek to race! It sure would be nice to see a 2-stroke kick some ass in my home state! :P

Here's the scoop...
Mike signed up to get his Pro License in early February this year. Unfortunately, he received e-mail confirmation of his license 3 weeks ago. According to the rules you need your credentials before signing up.
Mike's girlfriend Jackie finally figured out a way to sign him up without the credentials, but it was just before the deadline last week. When the entry list was published we were not on it.
Our only possibility to get into Budds is if someone cancels (there is a 48 hour grace period to get a full refund) so we can take that place.
We are still moving full-speed ahead preparing our machine for Budds Creek, but at this moment we don't know if we'll get in.
What's the deal? I thought we were in a recession or something. Over 90 Pros signed up for the 450 Pro Class!!
Please pray to whatever God you know that we can somehow slip into the Budds Creek National.
Thanks!
P.S. In no way is this just because we are racing a 250 two-stroke! Last Saturday we spoke to a local Pro who finally canceled his check after not hearing from the AMA for over three months about his Pro license.

Definitely bad news, because you know now all the doubters are going to say you guys never planned to race Budds and this is just another excuse. I am sick of reading that garbage from those guys on TT, I might have to just stay out of that thread all together.

Coop... you can ask my wife, I was so upset yesterday that I couldn't see straight.
One of the issues is that I did a good job at promoting Project Two 50, but have been building the bike on a low budget. Not always a good combination!
As for TT I made a few posts just to tell our side of the story, then the haters come on and say some of the most vicious stuff. I wonder if they ever do anything to improve the sport of motocross? My feeling is that they just hate life and everything... too bad for them.
I will not post on there again. At least not until we at least attempt to qualify for a National.
I am so sorry about these set-backs. Everyone on here has been very supportive of what we are doing. I truly appreciate that. More than you know.
-
DUDE, I AM PRAYING, DONT YOU WORRY ABOUT THAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT HAS TO WORK OUT. IT JUST HAS TO !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Lets hope it all comes together, it would be a tragedy if Mike couldnt race :(

No apologies necessary, and you guys will continue to get my support. I think people that make accusations and are viscous have never had to face set backs in their real lives. I also think many fail to see the enormous undertaking your team is. It's not just loading the bike up and going riding with your buddies, lol.

Hi Guys,
Unfortunately, Mike did not get into Budds for Saturday. To say we are bummed would be an understatement.
I know that some of the folks on here were planning on going to see Mike and the Project Two 50 machine. While that will not be happening I'm planning on taking a ride down to Budd's and would like to meet up with you guys. I just have to firm up plans, but offroader (Roger) and I are planning to make the trip.
One of our other members on this site Robert Kraft will be attempting to qualify down at Budd's Creek on Saturday. We should all support him 100%
Not sure what shirts we will be wearing, but it could be one of the following.... Kinetic Green Monster shirt (this is one of our main sponsors, you guys heard it here first, I've got to write up a press release) Maybe a V Force shirt or possible a Two Stroke Motocross shirt.... I am tall with glasses and Roger is a strong man competitor... please PM me if you want my cell number.
We'll probably be camping over on Friday night... sleeping in Roger's White Astro van.... PA plates.

That sucks man, the AMA is so retarded, should be like old day where you could show up and enter.
I have a story about that in 2006 I wasnt planning on racing St. Louis SX and my buddy was in the 250f class, well when the list came out they entered him in the 450 class and he freaked out, and they told him they wouldnt change it, so I called them and was like can I take his spot, cause he wasnt going ot get his money back so would have been free entry for me, haha, but they were like NO we cant do that, they never gave me a reason why, but his dad called them up and snapped and got them to switch him to the lites class, and we ended up going down with him to help out and watch anyway.
But shit like that with the AMA is just dumb, they just lost $200 buck for Budds I know that, they should totally let him race but oh well, guess they dont care?
-
Mike, thanks for the support.... I know in the past that the AMA had done some pretty strange things.
With MX Sports it is much more professional. They really tried to help us out...
We've decided to chalk this up to experience and move forward. Believe me we will never make that mistake again!
The days of showing up on race day have been eliminated. You must pre-enter. If you enter after the deadline there is an additional charge. To run a Pro Series, this is the best way to do it. You have a complete list of the racers and have all the License's and Pit Passes taken care of. It makes sense.
Now they run the race schedule on a very tight schedule. Which is much better for everyone involved.
I know that I like it. It bit us in the butt this time, but like I said it'll never happen again!

Damn, thats terrible to hear. Do you think it would be a good idea to have a tent set up with a display of the bike and try and build on the support that you already have. I would think that would be a success. Another 3 LONG weeks before we get to see you out racing. Cant hardly wait, but no doubt it will be worth the wait. I understand that these things happen. Look at it positively, Mike will be hanging to get out there, and will go out and blitz it. I have no doubts !!!!!

I was thinking the same thing! But we only have one bike right now and Mike is going to race locally this weekend, hard to have one bike in two places.
Our sponsor Craig at MicroBlue has stepped up and is buying a second bike. This guy is very serious about making things happen! We are so grateful.
We talked about setting up the second bike as a display machine, but thought it would work against us. A stock machine with Mike's plastics and graphics? Who would want to see that? Not me!
