"rocketed out of the gate"
good job guys!

OH WAU! 8)
Did he win? Do you have more videos of that race?
-
It's so cool that it's even funny somewhat.
-
That's so cool I had to watch a couple times :D

Mike won all 4 motos he entered yesterday. Each one by 20 to 30 seconds ahead of second place!
The video that you see was taken by Mike's girlfriend with a Flip camera, I'll ask her if she has any more and try to post them.
It was a fun day!

Hi John
Nice to see the 250 racing. Did you guys not make it to Mt.Morris? I see Mike knows the trick about laying back and watching the starter drop the gate in the box! Always helps on the start.

Can't load the video form some odd reasons :( tried with explorer and firefox...

Same here, I even tried to click on the video so it would open in youtube, no luck.

Hell yeah! that was a fatty holeshot.
It looks like you guys are really doing your homework on this project. I'm glad your waiting until everything is dialed in before you make your debut.
Roost some 4 strokers in the face!

I can't find the face!!
-
Jet, you're gonna have to use small words to explain the gif..... I don't get it!!
For you guys that can't view the video try this link to Youtube Project Two 50 Holeshot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhweJeirjZI#ws)
If for any reason that does not work search YouTube for "Project Two 50 Mike Leavitt"
Later tonight Jackie (Mike's girlfriend) is supposed to get more videos to me from the race. She may even have some others from a practice day we did in New Jersey.
We did not make Mt. Morris.... the bike needed to be torn down and parts sent to Craig for inspection. Only got things back together on Thursday late afternoon. Since we used a new cylinder (the first one had quite a few hours on it) we wanted to test the bike and have Mike get some practice time before going to the Nationals.
We have a 3rd cylinder that we should have in a week or so that will be out-of-this-world!!!
-
Thats pretty bloody cool!! That was a massive holeshot for a short start straight.
I love the way Mike looked back at em all ;D
-
I love how hes like looking back at the other riders and says "Comon guys , cant you do any better than this?!" .
-
That holeshot was even better in person! We all just kind of looked at each other when mike pulled it off. :o Between mikes mad skills and the great motor and suspension on the bike we can't wait for the nationals. ;D

Yeah neither can I!!
-
You have to watch it in hd ... ..ok all I can say is I hope that Mike pull the same thing at the Nationals! Mike is our 2 stroke Doug Henry! That was just too awesome to watch! Go Mike go!
-
God what a thing of beauty that was!!
-
haha!! reminds me of the nationals in australia.. cam taylor and darryl king both on yz250 2 strokes hole shot nearly every race darryl king even managed a second in wet hardpack conditions!!
-
This is the way. I will bet over half of the other riders are seriously considering switching back to a stroke, thanks John
-
Yeah that was amazing. Was that a grid of A graders? Cos he made them look like D Graders. Seriously slow D graders. None of those guys need 450's. They would benefit from riding 125's. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The start was from the Plus 25 Expert class... the competition was mostly 450's.

"Competition" Lmao!
-
And he checked out...
Nice :D
-
I finally got to watch it, most impressive! :D

Now that's what I like. Real power, not simply a slightly broader powerband, but enough power to actually beat the 450 thumpers through the gears. Every time I see the magazines do a hop up on a 2stroke to help it compete with the much larger thumpers, they never seem to go for more max power. They merely broaden the powerband a bit and make it a little easier to ride. They end up with an expensive load of mods which merely enables you to get beaten by the thumpers a little less badly. You want to beat the 4strokes, build a 2stroke with some balls! If you can't at least stay with them on the straights, your chances of winning are very slim indeed. I love what Project 250 is doing with their bike. That's the way you build a real racing 2stroke.

yeah I agree!

I like the way he took the 1st turn, he squared it off, tucked it in tight, and blistered it around the turn... while the 4 stokes all go to the outside needing a berm to help them around the turn. This is where I think the smokers can shine. I think the riders of smokers need to practice utilizing different lines than their 4 stroke competitors.

way to get off the gate. the look back was pricelsss ;D
