Title: Stewart Practice Track Wreck
Post by: riffraff on May 30, 2010, 10:27:34 AM
I know it's not 2stroke related but it still doesn't look good for him

I'm sorry, but that guy's an idiot. Time after time he does stupid stuff on the track that takes other people down too.
Bet everyones glad he's not doing the outdoors.

Yeah I just don't understand why these guys think they gotta do a whip off just about every jump they hit

While that was at the Stewart compound, it didn't look like James to me... maybe it's just too far away for me to see well, but it didn't even look like his riding style.

As for the "whips" off the jumps, part of it is to keep the bike low over the jump... the other part is to show off!  :P :P

yeah I couldn't tell if it were either of the Stewart brothers. I've seen a couple other instances where showing off has caused issues, guess I'm just not into show offs

it was Pup Whatley and Malcolm Stewart. Pup is the one who crashed..

you gotta scrub if you wanna go fast, just like the bikes have evolved so the tracks changed, so has the riding style. everyone wants to go faster thats how you do it. these guys already rail every corner as fast as possible, they pin it down every straight, so where can you shave time? by keeping the wheels on the ground or getting them on the ground asap. I.E. scrub it!!!!!!! and no one can scrub like bubba, hands down the fastest man to ever ride a dirt bike.

Isn't there a difference between a scrub and a whip?

I don't think that doing a scrub or whip is the issue, it's the fact that he did it beside another rider while they where both 30 feet above the ground, on a practice track.
There was absoutely no reason to do it at that moment. That's what's stupid.

he probably didnt intend to make that much time on him. if you didnt notice he was like 2 bike lengths behind him. and even if its on a practice track your still going to want to pass your buddy.

Everyone loves to pass thier buddy ;D ;D
My point is why there, like that?
There was a left hander after the jump, Stewart was set up for the inside of that corner. Easy pass right there.
But instead he's taken them both down from 30 ft up.
