Attention, two-stroke enthusiasts! Local PAMX rider Brian Shuckhart has something cool up his sleeve for the upcoming High Point National. We got this note this week from his friend, Christian Panaia:
My friends and I are coming together to gather money and resources to build a competitive Suzuki RM125 for local privateer Brian Shuckhart to use trying to qualify in the 250 class at High Point. This is just a group of friends coming together as a team and trying to put a 125 two-stroke in the forty-man field for the first time in, well, I donā??t know how long. If you would like to put something online we will accept anything from parts, money, services, and food [laughs]. All money donations can be sent to raible213@gmail.com. For any other donations, they can contact me at cmp15@hotmail.com. Any help we get is greatly appreciated.

wow, this is starting to become trendy, in a good way. when was the last 2t ridden in a sx main or qualified for the top 40 in an outdoor? 2004? i think this is going to catch on to the faster privateers and i can promise there will be a lot of good recognition for that rider who is the first to make a main.

I'm pretty sure the last time was Lamson on a CR125 in 2007.

or micheal willard at i think 07 or 08 Seattle supercross.

This is great news.... the tide is changing....

Aint it great when the crowd gets into cheering for the 2stroke at a race.
Deep down they know which bike is better.
Just like old times, only now people are realizing the error of their ways.
Kinda makes me tear up. :D

brian always has lots of cheers at high point he is really a great rider

I believe he qualified last year on a 250 2t didnt he?
-
Yup, He sure did qualify! And he ran great in the races too. Then, he also qualified and raced well at Steel City, which is the other PA round he entered last year.
I would love to see him on the 125, but I hope that trying to qualify in on the smaller machine isn't a lot harder, because I'm really looking forward to the High Point round, I'll be there, and mostly because of Project 250 and Shuckhart.
I can watch my neighbors drive there lawn mowers in circles right here at home. I dont' need to go to the races for that!
Thanks,
Jim

Ya he is fast on a 2-stroke! I am going to try qualifying for Washougal on a 250 and Pala on a 125. Hope all goes well!

A good friend of mine is coming in for Hi Point and I will have to go to check out the smokers for sure I will be rooting those guys on. 8) From what I am hearing this might be the last Hi Point National supposedly there is rumor of it being moved to Alabama. :(

Ya I have heard from a source that has been inside the MX Sports meetings that Hi-Point, Washougal and Hangtown are all on the chopping block for next year.........
