My new long term project, just waiting on the new frame/swinger currently buried in my uncles garage. Plans are to make it slightly modern, but without making it look so. The fox shox are already badass (They've been cleaned since this pic), but I will need to rebuild them.  They soak up every freaking bump its amazing. Apparently I might also have another pair on the spare frame and swing arm so its a win win for me haha.  :P

Does anyone have a 78-80 cr250 intake? This one is dry rot all to hell, and the patch job I although it fixed the air leak, is not track/trail worthy. New remakes are $110 on ebay, but like I want spend $110 on an intake when I can pick up a 1985 cr250 intake for like $20 and simply run a pod filter into the stock air box like most maico owners do haha...

Man, what a great find (even if you have some rubber parts challenges). I drooled all over the dealer floors when they came out!

Ditto, shouldn't be to bad, have a few ideas, but I'm not going to spill them yet. Would love to do VMX, but I'm more into an awesome vintage/modern deal that you won't be afraid to ride. The front forks even though air assisted are terrible, so I'll most likely update the front suspension, most likely 43mm kyb's off a later model KDX, but I will most likely try and keep the drum front.

Get a set of 86' CR Showa forks and triple clamps and put uprated springs ( .46 ) and emulators in it.
Or a cheaper option is a set of a 90-92 DR250. Same forks. :o
Will handle pretty good then with your fox shock's.

That would be legit, but I already have a set of KDX forks off my dad's bike as soon as I update it with 46-48mm USD's.  ;D

When you say intake, I'm assuming you mean the airboot between the filter
and carb.  If that's the case, and you plan to ride/race the bike, a lot of people
use the Twin Air integrated filter.  It comes with the rubber boot bonded to the
filter.  I use one whenever I run my 79 so I don't have to fool with the hard to
service OE filter.  The filter tube threads in through the hole in the airbox
directly to the carb.

Oddly enough I have the airbox boot piece still despite it being a royal pain in the ass when ever you have to remove the carb, I'm talking about the intake between the cylinder and carb :-.
