Heres a article i found in an Aussie bike mag.
Both interesting and confusing.
Aussie & NZ have both passed the rule change.

Pretty fair conclusion I reckon although;
$10 difference over a season :o :o hhmmm used a mates 450x to do an outback tour. It went through oil like nobodies business, then before I returned it, changed the oils and filters. Nearly had a heart attack over the cost!!! And these racers change oil and filters after every race meeting.........
KTM250sx-- outdated chassis and suspension, what drugs are these blokes on. If its not aluminum it must be outdated. Wonder if KTM knows this while they pour money into their new 350 with an outdated chassis, they're gonna be bummed. Some people just haven't got a clue.

Oh dear. Time for another Operation: Convince the World that Chromoly is Just as Good as Aluminum, or Even Better. It's a top-secret operation, hopefully the Japanese terrorists won't be able to figure out the mission from the title. Maybe we should've just called it Project SX.

Sounds like more testing done by riders with little or no 2 stroke experience. Why is it that people cannot remember how difficult the transition was from 2 strokes to 4 when they first came out? I remember watching good riders turn laps 5-10 seconds slower when they first made the switch from their 2's. Do these people think the switch back should be seamless? There needs to be an acclimation, learning to use the clutch again and shifting properly to get the best lap times. But no, they just continue to report that the 2t is slower around the track. And $10 more for a season on the 250f???? Unless it is a very slow novice, this is absolute bull!!

If you??re young or you weigh less than 70kg, a 144 could be just the ticket. Nobody favoured the 250cc two-stroke as it sat because of its animalistic power delivery and outdated chassis and suspension, but with some time invested in setting the bike up properly, it could certainly be made to be more tractable and compliant. ??I??d want to spend some time and effort on getting a KTM or Jap 250 two-stroke right,? pondered Broomy, who said that he??d probably opt to ride one over a 144 or a 250F in deep sand only.
This was a quote.
In the Netherlands we have a lot of deep sand tracks. Lighter bikes like the 144 or 250 four stroke are faster on those tracks then stronger bikes.
For the rest i can only say it is the rider that wins races not the bike. So many different opinions. One mag says a 250 2 stroke is a not honest advantage over a 250 4 stroke and here we have an other opinion.
If you ask me i do not beleive a lot of all this. i believe what i see and what a measure. And that says that the best rider wins no matter what bike he is on.

Here we go again on the chromoly vs. alumunum !I personally hate the big, boxy&ugly aluminum frames on the Jap bikes.I beleive the Japanese brands use aluminum because it's cheaper than cromoly NOT because it makes their bikes handle any better! It's just the CHEAP way to go in my opinion and I hope KTM never uses aluminum frames! ::)

Dont turn this into another frame debate.
The article is not about that.

My point was the ignorance of the magazine writer (and the media in general) in suggesting that the latest KTM250SX with the latest suspension (as used by the "modern" 4 stroke models) and the latest model updates, was somehow outdated because of its steel frame. Marketing has certainly blinded the masses

I quote.
"With decades of development behind it, the 250sx is a finely tuned machine"
Then
"outdated chassis and suspension, but with some time invested setting the bike up properly"
What?
Did these guys not adjust a clicker on any of the bikes ?
I bet KTM & WP would like to know their stuff is outdated!
Thats why i posted this. It pisses me of when you read sloppy reviews.
