I'm not sure which forum is the best place, but figured I would post here since I have a picture or two to share. I am 38, been riding since I was 8 and have always had a passion for two strokes, preferably models from the 80's since those were bikes I lusted after as a youth but couldn't afford, lol. I live in SW PA, I've had two back surgeries since 2005 (dumb lifting injuries) and now I am a non-traditional EET student.
This winter I picked up a 1988 KX125 "basket case". It's been completely rebuilt; bearings, seals, crank, piston, rings, gaskets, clutch, cables, etc. The bike came with all of the engine components new in the box, the previous owner got overwhelmed with the rebuild and sold it to me for $200 parts included. I just had to buy some gaskets, seals, washers, etc. Plus I replaced the clutch. It still needs some "aesthetics" and cleaning but runs great.

Welcome & beautiful bike you have there.

Very nice job on it. Reminds me of my first dirt bike.....a 1987 KX 80 bigwheel. Good luck with it.

Thanks, I have been a fan of these since I was a kid. So far it is running and performing well. Technically I am too big for a 125 but the local riding club has some gnarly hills and I haven't had a problem yet climbing them.
