Title: Yamaha YZ 125 2005 cylinder und and head

Hi Guys!

Can someone please help me out with this?

I have a 2005 Yamaha YZ 125 and i would like to know if the cylinder and the head fit together and do they fit on a 2005 model?
What makes me think about this, is that the cylinder and the head cooling holes didn't match together. Is this normal to increase more preasure or is it just the wrong cylinder or head for my 2005 YZ?

Cylinder and head come with the bike but were never installed since I owned it.
The bike runs with a 144 so unfortunately i can't compare the parts...

To my untrained eye, something is definitely off there.  Can you find a part number on the cylinder and hear and cross reference it against a microfiche?

Hi eprovenzano,

Unfortunately i have no part numbers on it. The only number on the cylinder is Y-1 1C300 and on the head F-1 1C3.

Hi mate all the yz heads are like that the cooling holes never match up, I don't know why they just don't. For the 2005 i believe the heads are marked F1 and the 2006 onwards are marked F2

Here's a picture of my 2008 heads before they went off for repair, notice the coolant hole don't match up completely

Thank you very much! This is exactly what i needed :-)
To me, I don't understand why the holes didn't match up.
I can only imagine that it has something to do with increasing pressure or something like that...
Anyway your head and cylinder looks like mine and your bike is running. So it's a good sign for me :-)
