I had to do flag marshalling for the first round of racing on sunday and i couldnt see the gate from where my point was. As the next race was on the line i couldn't tell what class it was because all i could hear were 2 strokes with the odd four stroke coming through. As they rounded the first turn to where i could see it was the junior lites and the top 5 bikes were 2 strokes. I would say that the field would have had 10 bikes or so and about half were two stroke, mostly ktm with a couple of yamaha's in there too. Also there was not one Honda crf 150 out there either but every other brand was represented
I was talking to one of the dad's of the kids and he said that his son was stepping up off the 85's so he was going to buy him a 250f but his son said that he was used to the way a 2 stroke rode and wanted a 2 stroke instead so he got him a 150.
Also the fastest guy at the track was on a ktm 250 sx. i was talking to him about it and he absolutely loves it. In the lites A class he pretty much killed em in on the sand based track and he still beat the 450's in the open race although not as easily. The guy was fast and would have won on whatever bike he was on but the fact that he chose the 2 stroke was pretty cool. He was also stoked to see that i had one and was bucking the 4 stroke thread

oooooohhhhhh yyyyyeeeeeaaaaahhhhh
Its a sure thing. I watched MXTV the other day and they tested some new bikes, all the YZ 2 strokes! Not a pooper in sight!

Back in the day 2 stroke's proved they were superior to 4$ and have never lose that title. 4$ were given an advantage to get as many people as fast as possible go to the 4$. All the people that jumped on the 4$ that now have to come back to the 2S.WELCOME BACK...
Now it's time to get all the 2s rider's in the U.S. orgianized and numbered and hopefully save 2s motocross. Beside's i'm super curious to know the number of 2s rider's in the U.S. See how big of an army we're working with. I hope all of us 2s rider's and spectator's have a great year this year in 2s. KIM

Lets make an unstoppable army of 2t riders and take back motocross, and while were at it, the world
All kidding aside, it is good to see that the tide is changing back. I don't think the answer is wiping out all forms of 4t racing, just an even, unhandicapped, racing whether its 2t vs. 4t or electric motors for all I care.

My last time at the track / riding area, i was surprised to see sooooo many smokers. I was talking to a few guys, and they said if it wasn't for the two stroke, they could not afford to ride. Out of the four guys 3 had dumped their thumpers, while the 4th guy, this was his 1st bike. The 4 joke had broken their bank accounts. The lone guy on the thumper just couldn't get the hang of the 2 stroke power curve so he bought a thumper. One guy was proud so of his 2004 RM 250 which he "picked up for a song". It was a basket case. The PO had tore it down to refresh the top end, and noticed play in the crank bearings. He started to split the cases, but stopped and set the bike aside. The new owner said he was able to rebuild the entire bike, for next to nothing. As he said "working on a two stroke is just so easy." I was able to referb the entire bike in my garage with nothing more than basic hand tools.

Yeah, there are continuously more and more two strokes back at the tracks again. I remember back in 08 through to 2010, it wasnt uncommon for me to be on the only two stroke out there. On sunday where I rode, it was probably getting close to 50/50. Definitely making an impression and a lot more guys going back to a two stroke. If the vet scene wasn't so big, there wouldn't be that many 450's being ridden.
I am looking forward to the nats here in Aus, the under 19s and lites class should have plenty of two strokes in it.
Also, the latest Dirt Action magazine has a massive portion of the mag dedicated to two strokes, with race tests, reviews and a massive buyers guide on all the current two strokes. Great to see.

SwapperMX its funny about the vets, I see many dumping the 450 pigs and jumping on a 125 /144 / 150 just because of the grin factor. They said "riding the 450 was easy, but boring. The 125 really puts a smile on my face and forces me to "ride / race" again."

Was at my local dealer and noticed two things, first all the unsold and discounted 2012 Crf's, and second, all the sold signs on the 2013 Husaberg 2Ts.
