Guys, I've just find this new in the MXA web site.
The header just said that KTM was looking for a factory rider. The lucky rider is going to race Mike Sleeterā??s KTM Factory Services/One Industries KTM 450 SX-F at the opening round of the MX Sports AMA Motocross Series at Prairie City Raceway.
Ok, thats nice for any ama pro-license holder looking for a chance to have a factory ride, but what is really awesome for us is the reason. I first thought that Mike was injured, but I was wrong. Mike Sleeter decided to race the KTM 250SX two stroke on the opening round!!!
Now this are great news!!!

No, never forget Mike Leavitt, but now there is another rider that choose a two stroke and more impresive is that Sleeter (coincidence that both of them are called Mike?) had a factory ktm 450sx ready to go and he rather ride a two stroke!

Best of luck to Mike & Mike - too bad no one will be able to hear how good their bikes are going to sound over the wet-fart 450's!!!!

He got offered by Ktm to ride a 2 stroke..this is how everything started...How cool is that..
from himself on Vitalmx..
Ok boys here is the deal on this project. KTM has never stopped improving there 2-strokes and are not planning on stopping any time! The KTM marketing group approached me about riding the bike and asked what my thaughts are and I expressed my feelings. The 250sx is such a fun bike and I wish 2-strokes were more popular for the general public due to the costs of riding the space age four strokes that we love so much. I ride a different bike everyday and KTM or myself are not trying to conquer the world with this project. My racing is not result based I have multiple different jobs and that make fun projects like this possible. I will be legal at the race in all areas, I will not cheat in any way shape or form. This is all for fun and I think the general public will just love the smell when I ride by them in the pits. My goal is to just make the 40 man line up. I'll attach a little video from the 2-stroke National so you can hear braaaaaaap! LOL...

Good luck to Mike & Mike.
Love that sound.

PS Why does every video these days have to be ruined by a bloody song.
Lets hear the engines not music.
The engines ARE the music

Funny how things go... we mention competing on a two-stroke.. for months folks in the mainstream think we are absolutely crazy...
Then they think about it for a while.... then KTM and Mike Sleeter decide to park the 450F and race a two-stroke...
Very Interesting!!

very nice video!!

Yes,
Quite remarkable, but it just shows John, as you say, that 2010 is the year of the two stroke. The more two strokes that are out there, especially at a pro level, the more that they will become accepted as a viable race option. This will only continue to build momentum for two strokes in general, and hopefully in the very near future have manufacturers running around their R&D departments digging out old blue-prints and have them being put back into production. I do hope that Mike Sleeter does well at the first round of the nationals. But what I REALLY want to see is Project two 50 make a massive statement across the several rounds that you guys will be competing in and put two strokes back on the map. Best of luck, it looks as though everything is heading in the right direction, and I cant wait to follow the upcoming series for one reason. TWO STROKE !!!!!!!
