Anyone had one of these bikes? Found one that looks good in pics thought about going to check it out it listed for $800
-
if its not to far away i'd at least go look at it, and i'm sure you could get him even lower than 800 if you were waving cash in his face

what twosmoke said, I think they were a pretty good bike..............its a Honda so it must be

i still want to build a RJ replica

My favorite Honda - superb handling and motor.

Don't let the year fool you, you can still make a 450 killer out of it. Check the wheel bearings and roughly an engine compression check before taking it home. Older hondas are powerhouses. Good luck with it

I would bet on it needing more than just fork seals!
when was the last top end done?
how about the bottom end?
chassis bearings and bushes?
etc etc etc
all good questions that are worth asking as the costs do add up rather quickly!

I have a 2001 yz250 and as far as I know its essentially the same bike with a few exceptions. My YZ250 is honestly, a four stroke thats fun. I rode it again a few days ago (amid several panty wettings) and its like a light, fun four stroke. Powerband: Pulls a thousand times harder than my CRF250R did at every single RPM. Except from 9 grand up obviously where it just signs off.
Its handling is very front end heavy, if you turn the wheel you're gonna know about it. Well I say very front end heavy for a two stroke. Its obviously lighter than a four stroke and hits harder.
I love it. Lug it, scream it, throw it around, wheelie it, whip it, it does everything right. Only complaint is that front end heavy thing.
If it looks good and Jerams questions are answered favourably by the current owner, snap it the f**k up. Phenominal bike.
