Trials bike motor derp...

With a 4 stroke style pipe it effectively turns it into an insane diesel motor producing 16-20hp with like 60lbs of torque ha. Why I laugh at 4 stroke trials bikes as there is no need for them what so ever..

Ok a quick question. What is the difference between HP and torque and what is torque defined as? Remember, QUICK question I don't want to thread steal.

Quick ansswer. Torque is a measure of how hard the engine is twisting the crankshaft -- how much rotational force is being applied. For HP you take that force and multiply it by how fast the crank is spinning. Thats why you see a flat torque curve with a rising HP curve on dyno charts.

That makes sense actually. Thanks

Horsepower is just a function of torque.Basically, Horsepower=(Torque x Engine Speed)/5252

Put another way, horsepower is a measurement of "Work/Time" where Torque is a measure of work.

Generally if you have a Honda you have neither so you don't need to worry about it ;D  ;)

Cool bike btw,I always thought a trials bike with a seat and decent capacity tank so you could cover some distance between play areas would be the ultimate fun bike.

Its so sad that we haven't got DI/FI two stroke motocrossers yet. From the factory floor anyway. The technology has existed in two stroke sleds for god knows how long but four joke sales have voided any reason to make two strokes kick the p**s out of them.

I fear an  oncoming train of EFI related comments as to whether or not EFI has a place on two stroke motocross bikes.
