Title: CR500 for sale anyone on here ??

A friend had a 90 CR500 and it took every one of his 265 lbs to start that thing, what a beast. I had a 92 Maico 500 at the time and with the decompressor it was so much easier to kick over.

Legal for pre-90 racing so not a relic. Looks like a well restored and looked after bike. But the seller needs a uppercut for his spelling

It,s up to 4,500.00 still over 1,300.00 less than a 85. Very sharp bike, I like the 87 cr250 next to it better tho. A local Harley dealer last year went out of buisness, he had a few 89 cr,s they all sold for big money.

still a 90's bike and if you raced in the 90's you are a relic too.

It seems to be in amazing shape, but even if the insides looked as good as the outsides I wouldn't pay that much for it Great looking bike though, I'm sure it could still whoop some modern a$$ relic or not with the right rider on it.

There's relics and then there's dinosaurs and Mr. Eprovensano, we are both dinosaurs.
Lots of guys, myself included, like to collect motorcycles and a cherry, unmolested bike like the CR500 in question is what you look for.

Sorry for the bad picture, but the 250 in the background has never even had gas added to the tank, never been run. only stored. I think plenty of people would like to collect new old bikes and almost new old bikes.

Haha my 1st race was in 1990, most of my racing was 95- 2000, the mx boom 3or4 full gates of 125c, 125b full gate, 125a 30 riders. If you got a top 10 in any class, you where rippin. Alot more exciting having 700 riders, than 220 like today. I raced am. day at 97 at millville with 1,300 racers, practice was nuts. A 65 gto with the same hrs, would sell for 200,000, why shouldn,t the 500 sell for 10,000 plus.

Supply + demand.
I would guess the guys bidding on the thing either lusted after it or owned one back in the day.
Reliving youth/nostalgia.
Coupled with not many left = people prepared to pay a strong price.
I was more into cars back then - I'd love a late 90s BMW E36 super tourer, but don't have the 100k or so they are moving for :p
Droooool.

Why does the transmission whine like that??
And I would pay a high price if it was a mid life crisis and take it the track every Sunday or something.

Straight cut sequential dogbox.
Watched the car that won bathurst in 97 with the brabham brothers, after a guy in the BMW club bought it - got some pics somewhere. Amazing technology in these cars. How about a box that sits in the passenger footwell with a pendulum in it that adjusts lateral brake bias depending on corner load, so you don;t lock up the inside wheels?
You can hear the box scream. But most amazing is the induction noise through the carbon airbox - with the engine at 8500rpm.
