so we picked up a brand new KX450F within an hour of it being received get one ride on it. goes like a butt-bubbler break in is in full swing. second ride we go out and on third moto i come down out of a corner and try to shift to third only to find it is stuck in second. "Launch Mode" button on handle bar is blinking like a browneye in the Village People, but then the bulb bunt out. less than an hour on the bike. so now it is back at the dealership repair bill, big bill large bill very huge repair bill(not under warranty).
just wondering if any other 11-13 owners have had any problems like this?

I dont understand, why is my post a joke now?
-
It's not a joke. Having transmission issues sucks. I think its odd how the same gear and same problem occurred at the same time to two different people during a similar event. That's all.

i'm having trouble understanding it as well... care to explain TS?
-
I think it might have been because the guy riding the bike before was charging as hard as he could, trying to show off on the street. If he was shifting without the clutch, he might have stress fractured the third gear cog or dogs because the rear hub has nothing in it to absorb the shock, and the clutch basket doesn't either.
If they shift hard on the street with this kind of transmission, it screws it up I guess.
