You could refill the forks but preferible is a complete oil change. I prefer atf, I change fork oil every 40 hours.
Get some seal safers mount those and forget about dirty seals.

IMO most of all times the forkseal is dirty and with a business card you can clean the seal quite easily.

I've had the bike for 4 years, and have never changed the fork oil, or serviced the forks. So with that in mind, I know I'm past due for maint. After watching mand vids, I'm comfortable with everything I need to do except making sure I have the proper oil level in the forks. I just need to do some more research before I pull the forks.
cnrcpla please don't worry about "robbing" this thread, you have a good question... one I am trying to wrap my mind around as well. I just need to do a little more research.

I re-searched it a little, and for my fork (not sure if its different for yours or not) I have to take the fork off the bike and stand it up level, put a piece of something like a dipstick down into the oil and see where it measures. Apparently from what I got, my fork oil is supposed to be 5-6 inches from the top. I am considering doing an oil change after watching those videos, can't hurt at all to set it up with new oil at proper levels. Good luck with your fork seals

Wow 4 years, that is overdue I do mine once every 2 or 3 months. 40 to 50 hours of riding actually.

You have to take into consideration with my work schedule, (I'm a consultant, so I'm on the road usually 5 days a week), and then trying to maintain the house, cars, bikes etc, plus keep momma happy, riding time is limited... but no matter what, I'm way over dueI've had the bike for 4 years, and have never changed the fork oil, or serviced the forks.
