Title: need some cylinder help?!

Helloo people, i bought a wiseco oversize piston for my bike a few weeks ago. the inside of my cylinder is magnetic! and you can see a really light bronze colour ring on top of the cylinder so i thought it was sleeved but when i took it to get bored the guy said it was plated?  :o i thought plated cylinders wernt magnetic really need to know if it sleeved or not, dont really trust the guy who said it because hes not a proper mechanic? Some help reall would be usefull! Cheers

Post a picture. A plated cylinder can still be magnetic but it will be a very light pull, a sleeved cylinder has a much stronger pull.

Flip the cylinder upside down and look at the transfer port/spigot area,you'll be able to see if it has been sleeved or not.

It wont let me upload a picture for some reason and yeah ive looked under there but cant really see anything as has had all the port edges blended in :s and the magnet sticks to it quite hard might just take it to another shop and see what they say

It depends entirely on the integrated junction at the powerband fitting on the cylinder when viewed from below.The general coefficient of the transverse modulations when running at 2000 rpm or above is what imparts the magnetic field-not the material on the inside of the cylinder.A resonance imager will tell you right away,otherwise,go with the powerband color. :)

I was referring to pruning not "sampling". ;)
